The word "faggot" was scribbled on my locker, and as I stood there staring at it, a football player walked by and spit on me.
I would try to run out of school, out the doors to safety - but every time I tried to take a step, it felt like I could hardly move. My legs must have weighed a thousand tons, and when I finally got to the doors, they were locked.
I woke up breathing heavily and sweating like a pig. I wiped my forehead and glanced at the clock. 5:50. I had ten minutes before my alarm went off.
Biting my tongue, I crawled out of bed to get ready for school.
