Sometimes life throughs you a curve ball, but when Valerie is sacrificed with her friends to the family of blood suckers, she finds one of these vampires has a soft spot for the girl.

The two ladies cradled her in their arms. She was only a day old. Not even! Today is her first day of life, sadly today. Not yesterday, not tomorrow, but today. 9th of September 2009, 9.09 a.m.

"She's so beautiful." one muttered. It's too bad that today is her birthday.

They looked down at her mother, so frail and weak. She had died during delivery of her child. These two ladies work at ST.Andrews orphanage.

Her father had fled. Knowing his daughter's ending, he didn't want to stay.

The lady with fire-red hair passed the baby to the other, to go get the wagon.

"Hello, baby. Welcome to the world. We'll take care of you, until you're seventeen. That's when-" she swallowed, "What shall we name you, Sweetheart?"

She cradled the baby in her arms while looking at her mother's name.

"Maleri. Well shall we name you after your mother's name?" she whispers. The baby takes deep breaths, deep in sleep.

Horses hooves clacked on the cobbles stone road, letting the lady know that Ms.Danny had arrived with the wagon.

"What shall we name her, Linda?" the lady driving asked as the two got in.

"Her mothers name?" she asks, putting her seat belt on.

The sun is rising in the east, casting shadows over the sangue castle. Linda shivered as they drove past. Knowing the baby girl, will ever to soon be going there.

"No. Her name should be brave and mighty." the driver smiles.

"Her mother's name is Maleri. How about Valeri, Bella?" Linda says happily, holding onto the baby over bumps.

"Perfect. We shall name her Valeri, and she will be brave and strong."

"Yes. Even though her e-"

Bella cuts her off, "Do not speak of the end when the begging has just started."

"Well, what should her story be?"

"Her parents died in a house fire. That is all she has to know."

Linda sighs, but nods. Valeri's end was inevitable, but her life in the orphanage with the other September ninth babies will be a bliss.

The nine babies born on the ninth hour of the ninth day of the ninth month will be sent to the sangue castle in exactly seventeen years, when there blood will be at its ripest.

It's a cruel matter in which the cruelest make, but when life in Italy is controlled by inhuman blood drinkers, it's hard to deny.

Ever since thirty hundered years ago in Italy, humans have been ruled by the sangue, a family of blood suckers.

Vampires as they were known. But these were the ones who don't live in coffins and only come at night.

Valeri will be one of the nine to be taken in seventeen years, to be sacrificed to the blood suckers.

And that is her fate, inevitable.
