The Dream Box

Julie is at school. We have nothing to do. We go into her room and lay down. She doesn't know about this. Nobody will tell her her either. "This is wrong you know" Alex says. "We're not doing anything. Just sitting." I say looking at the ceiling. "Luke. Are you ever going to tell her how you feel." Reggie asked me. I think for a minute. "No probably not. If she doesn't feel the same i ruin everything. I cant afford that. She's too important to me." I say. Reggie and Alex look at each other but no one says anything. She should be home soon so we move back to the garage. "Hey guys!" Julie says walking into the garage. "Hey" The boys and I say. "I'm sleeping at Flynn's tonight so we have to rehearse tomorrow after school if that's okay." She says. "Yeah of course" I smile. She leaves the garage to pack her stuff. Alex is looking at me. "what?" I ask. He looks at Reggie and Back at me. "She likes you, bro." He says. I roll my eyes. You don't know that. "Whatever." He says back to me. A few hours later it's dark now. Alex and I pop into the Orpheum. Just to remember the things. "Wheres Reggie?" I ask. Alex looks at me. "I have no idea he said he'll come when he's ready." He said. I brush it off. No ones here except me and Alex. "Hey!" We here a distant voice. It's Willie. "Hey!" Alex smiles. Alex and Willie go off together so i'm alone now. I pop back to the garage. Reggie is there reading something. "What's that?" I ask. He doesn't look up from the paper. "hello?" I say again. This time he looks at me. "Dude. She really likes you." He says handing me the paper. I begin to read. I start getting teary.

"It's about you Luke. You know that right?" Reggie says. I fold the paper back up. "Yeah. I know." I smile without realizing. "Now what?" He asked. Just then Alex and Willie pop up. "What's wrong?" Alex says. I didn't even notice the tears running down my face. I hand Alex the paper. "Dude." Willie says. "This is from Julie?" Alex continues. I shake my head. We talk about it for a while and before we know it it's morning. "She's going to be home soon. What do I do. I can't just pretend like I didn't read that." I say. The tears are gone. But i still feel tense. "I'll talk to her. I'll tell her I found the paper in her box." Alex said. I look at him. "No I will. She won't be too mad if I tell her I did it. I hope. She can't be mad at either of you right now." Reggie said. He popped out before we could tell him no. Julie is going to be home in about an hour. So me and Alex decide to rehearse and practice acting normal. We sing Edge of Great. That's always been one of my favorites. Me and Julie had a great time. At least I did. I cant stop thinking about Perfect Harmony. When did she write it. And, Why didn't she tell me about it. She's been humming something for a while after her school dance rehearsal. Could that be if? Before i finished the song Reggie nudged my shoulder. It's Julie. She's home.
