[EDITED; 7/3/21]The Peace After The Storm
"Do not be ashamed of the wars your
soul has fought to save itself "
It was a regular day at Camp-Half Blood, some monster attacks, some new campers, some godly claims, some sword fighting, some injuries, nothing out of the ordinary, well, for a demigod life.
Camp-Half Blood has been calm or at least as calm as it could be with basically a hundred demigods wandering around in the same place, for the past two months.
The seven had returned, everything was under control, no more crazy quests, no more fighting for their lives, no more Kronos, no more Gaia, no more giants, no more wars. Just peace.
...
Summer was about to end and Percy was freaking out, he had to go back to high school, what was he supposed to say? He had disappeared for the whole school year, without an explanation, well, without an explanation he could share with the world. In one week he would start high school once again and he had mixed feelings about it. He was nervous, of course, he was happy, maybe, for once, he would have a normal year, with only regular teenage drama (not that he loved it, but it had to be better than demigod drama), he was relaxed, not a war to think about and, above all, he was happy, Annabeth would be living in New York, which means that he would be seeing her a lot more often and probably, hopefully, she will be attending his same school, making everything a little bit better.
Annabeth was also freaking out. She was going to try, once again, to live with her father, this time in New York, and attend a normal high school. This brought her lots of mixed feelings; YES, she was happy and excited to go live with her father, but it also made her feel nervous and powerless, as it never ended well when she tried to live with him, and the last time she had tried she had gone back to camp for winter break and never went back. Yes, she was fighting a war and all that stuff, but her father didn't know that, and she had been stupid enough not to contact him even once during all that time. The good thing was; whatever happens, good or bad, she will have Percy there, something, someone permanent, someone who Annabeth knew would always be there for her, no matter what.
But for the time being both of them were pushing those thoughts aside. Even though going back to the mortal world, to their mortal side of their families has many advantages, it still meant going back to the mortal world, a side of the society that cast them aside without even noticing it. No matter how hard they try, they will never belong to that world, they will never blend in because they are different and different people are not usually received with open arms.
They, demigods, live to survive, live a day at a time, future, future is a foolish dream they have, a dream they wish they could achieve, but that they know they won't, they aren't like any other teenager. They don't belong and they know it. So they tried not to think about it. H
How can they change a whole society's way of thinking about something they don't (and can't) even know about? It was better for them not to think about it and deal with it when the time came.
For the time being, they were trying to enjoy as much as possible this last week they had at camp and so far they were succeeding, because no matter how nervous and uncertain they felt about their last high school year and what going back home meant, it had to be better than fighting giants.
For the past 2 months, Percy and Annabeth grew to be even closer, it was rare to see one without the other; they would sleep together (only sleep and no more, what were you thinking?!) because it was proven that without the other they couldn't sleep or, better say, they would sleep, but they would wake up in the middle of the night screaming for their lives. NO ONE, apart from each other, could truly calm them down. And though those nightmares were a recurrent event, it was extremely odd to see Percy or Annabeth crying or showing any kind of weakness, especially after a roman camper suggested they went to therapy. No one could truly explain what had happened down there, but they could for sure say that it had changed them, as individuals and as a couple.

Jason and Piper were a whole different story, they were distant from each other. Leo's death had taken a huge toll on them and they weren't dealing with it in the best possible way. To anyone who just glanced at them, it seemed like they were falling apart, but they weren't. If you were lucky and silent enough you could sometimes see them, in the middle of the night, cuddling on a clear of the forest, both totally in love.
It was taking time, but eventually, Jason and Piper were starting to be themselves once again.
...
Hazel and Frank were at Camp Jupiter and they didn't communicate much, yet, no one could blame them. Nobody at Camp-Half Blood communicated much either, it would be selfish to complain.
...
Nico, who knows what was going in Nico's mind?
He had just isolated himself from the world. Percy was actually worried about him, he was scared of the sole thought of Nico going through Bianca all over again. But Percy was proven otherwise when he saw Nico laughing and happily talking to Will in the infirmary.
It was not Bianca all over again, Nico had Will now.
...
Not Percy, nor Annabeth or Nico, nor any demigod wanted a new quest or anything to do with fighting another war. They were just okay, they were in peace and NO ONE could destroy that.
Or so they thought...
