Once upon a time, it was Krewmas. The five siblings hadn't done a thing to prepare, and everyone was stressed. Funneh and Draco were frantically trying to put up the tree, Rainbow was frosting cookies with a determined look on her face, Lunar was attempting to hang up Krewfam art with pencils instead of nails, and Gold was wobbling atop a ladder, hanging up tinsel.
"Draco!" Funneh suddenly called out. Draco had looked away from his work for a second, causing the tree to tip into his sister.
"Sorry, sorry!" he said, pulling the tree toward him again. "Hold that." Now knowing that she had control of the huge pine, Funneh tightened her hold while Draco bent down and screwed the tree into the stand. Draco gave her the thumbs up, and Funneh slowly backed away. The tree stood a little crooked, but Funneh wasn't about to point it out. There was a crash from the next room, and Funneh and Draco exchanged a glance. Together they rushed in to see Gold sprawled across the floor, the ladder she was on the floor next to her.
"Owww," she moaned, rubbing her leg.
"Gold! Are you okay?" Funneh exclaimed.
"I-think so. I fell off the ladder. At least the tinsel looks nice though." Almost on cue, all the tinsel Gold had artfully placed around the room fell from its hooks. "Or not," Gold muttered.
"Oh, Gold it's okay. Why don't you help us with the tree?" Funneh asked. Gold nodded, and Draco slowly helped Gold up. Her leg wobbled a bit, but she was able to make it back to the tree on her own.
"Um, Lunar? Shouldn't you use nails for that?" Gold asked Lunar. Lunar looked at her hands, seeming surprised when she saw that she was holding a hammer and a handful of colored pencils.
"Well would you look at that. Whatever, I'll do this later," Lunar said, placing the pencils and hammer on a table. She bent down to pick up the fan art, smiling at the picture on top. It was a crayon drawing of her and her four siblings standing around a Christmas tree, not unlike the one currently in their living room. She set the art down, and joined the other three members of Krew around the tree. Funneh was on top of a ladder, which Draco was holding steady. Gold was watching from the sidelines, clearly still scared of ladders from her own escapade.
"Guys, guys, guys!" Rainbow exclaimed. "Come look at my cookies!"
"CoOkIeS?" Draco yelled, abandoning his post at the ladder.
"Draco!" Funneh screamed, almost falling from her high place. Lunar jumped forward, steadying the ladder before her sister could tumble down.
"Thanks, Lunar," Funneh gumbled, climbing down.
"No problem," Lunar said, following Gold into the kitchen. When they arrived, Rainbow was putting the tray of cookies in the highest spot she could reach, which was really high, thanks to her long legs. Funneh, Gold, and Lunar glanced at Draco, then immediately gave themselves a face-palm. Draco's mouth was filled to the bursting with Christmas cookies.
"Draco!" Gold yelled. "Those were for Santa!"
"There are MILLIONS of houses, Gold. He doesn't need ALL the cookies from ours," Draco said after what looked like a painful swallow of the cookies.
"He does have a point," Funneh said, hiding her grin.
"No he doesn't! We want Santa to know that this house is the best! He won't know that if all the cookies are gone!" Rainbow exclaimed, getting the plate back down. "Here, you guys can have ONE cookie each." Funneh laughed and grabbed what looked like the biggest cookie and earned a glare from Rainbow. Suddenly, the doorbell rang. The Krew looked at each other and shrugged.
"Who's at the door so late on Christmas eve?" Lunar asked.
"I don't know, but it's Draco's turn to get the door," Gold said, crossing her arms.
"It's always my turn," Draco grumbled, stomping toward the door. The four sisters crammed themselves in front of the kitchen doorway, waiting to see the unexpected visitor. The doorbell rang again.
"I'm coming! Sheesh," Draco said, opening the door. Draco gasped.
"What? Who is it?" Funneh asked. Draco said nothing, so the rest of the Krew gathered by Draco. Their jaws dropped and in unison they said: "Draca?"
