Chapter 40

Enzo's POV

Carter immediately called for backup. I was so proud of Rose. She killed Colton and that too without any help. We had tried it so many times.

I tracked the phone. She was in one of Colton's warehouse. In short, she was in danger. If she had killed Colton, and his men came to know, Rose was as good as dead. But knowing how tough she is, maybe not. But we still had to get her.

Carter and I had asked our men to come to the warehouse. I checked inside to find that they were not in the warehouse. I am not surprised at all.

I decided to call Kai. How stupid am I to not do that earlier?

"Hey Kai, there is something you need to know. Rose has somehow managed to kill Colton and now his men have her." I started speaking as soon as he picked up the phone.

"What?! What do you mean his men have her?" he shouted from the other end.

"Exactly what you understand. She called me half an hour ago and at that time she was at Colton's fourth warehouse. They mustn't be very far. I have Carter with me so he will check his mansion, I'll go check his third warehouse and the godown and you go check the first and second warehouse." I told him my plan.

"Okay. Start searching straight away. Call if any of you find her." he said and ended the call. I looked at Carter to see if he understood the plan to which he nodded.

Third person POV

Kai was very angry as he drove to the warehouse. He felt all kinds of emotions. But most of it was fear. He was scared to lose Rose. Even though Colton was dead his men were ruthless. They could do anything to her. He had to find her as soon as he could.

"Kai, I found Rose. She is at the mansion, unconscious and wounded. We need to take her to the hospital. And you and Enzo need to come here as soon as possible. We are outnumbered." Carter started speaking as soon as Kai answered the call.

"Okay. Enzo is nearly there. His men will come and Enzo will take her to the hospital. I am coming." as soon as the call ended, Kai ordered his men to go to the Romano mansion. He was relieved that Rose was alive. He could not imagine what it would be like to lose her. 

Enzo reached the mansion. He directly went to the basement where Rose was and put a bullet through all the opponent men in sight on his way. When he entered, he saw Rose lying on the ground with cuts made all over her body. He picked her up and started going towards the exit. 

A few men saw him and started firing at him. A bullet was fired towards Rose. He moved her in his arms just in time that it missed her by centimetres but it hit him in his waist. Enzo was sure he could go on fighting. It didn't hit him anywhere near his organs. He shot all the remaining men dead in a minute.

Enzo got to his car and sped off to the hospital after putting Rose in the passenger seat. The hospital was a good 20 minutes away. He knew he would have lost a lot of blood.

He was trying not to pass out as he carried Rose to the ward where the doctors from the mafia were. He did not need to do any paperwork or answer any questions here. 

Jaxon was waiting for him as expected. He led Enzo to a room and asked him to place Rose on the bed. Seeing Enzo's bullet wound, Jaxon called another doctor who helped him to another room.

After killing every last person in the Italian mafia, Kai ordered his men to take care of his wounded men and asked them to return to the mansion. He then sped off to the hospital along with Carter.

He rushed to see Jaxon to ask him about Rose.

"Wait Kai." Jaxon stopped him. "Your wife is alright. Her wounds were infected. We have given her a drug which will help. We also needed to stich up a few wounds. She is weak and unconscious right now but she will recover." he said.

Kai released a sigh of relief knowing that his wife was alright.

"Where is Enzo?" Kai asked.

"He got shot. He lost a lot of blood so we have given him some blood. He will wake up in a few hours." Jaxon went into his office and brought a paper while Carter went to see Enzo.

"You need to sign this." he handed it over to Kai. "It says that you allow the use of the drug we have given to your wife even though your wife is pregnant. No worries though. Nothing will happen to the baby." he told.

"Wait what?! Rose is pregnant?" Kai asked, surprised.

"Yeah. Nearly five to six weeks. We had to run some tests before injecting the drug. You didn't know, did you?" he asked.

"No. And seeing what Rose did, I am guessing neither did she. Anyways, can I go see her?" Jaxon nodded.

He entered the room to see Rose in a hospital gown, unconscious on the bed. He walked towards her and placed a kiss on her forehead. After that his eyes immediately went towards her stomach. He couldn't believe in there was his son or daughter. He surely wasn't expecting this but was happy about it nevertheless.

"I love you little one. And I love you too, Rose." he said placing a kiss on her tummy.
