Chapter 1

Everyone in the street looked down at the dagger with Emma's name on it.

"How could she be so stupid?" Regina asked.

"Regina!" Calista said.

"Well, there had to be another way," Regina said.

"Well, there was... But she stopped it," Calista said.

"She did the right thing for you, Cali, you know that... There wasn't another way," Mary Margaret said.

"She should've just let me do it," Calista said.

"Then you would've been taken," Naomi said and held her hand.

"That thing was going to kill you, Regina, she saved your life," Mary Margaret said.

"Don't you think I know that?" Regina said.

"And now she's the... Dark One," Henry said.

"Now, she's a problem for all of us," Regina said.

"She is still good," Mary Margaret said.

"I hope so. It's not like she rode off on a unicorn. She got sucked up by a vortex of evil!" Regina said.

"Where is she? Where's she gone?" Robin asked.

"It doesn't bloody well matter," Killian said and approached the dagger.

"Uncle, don't," Naomi said as she grabbed his arm.

"Get out of my way," Killian pulled out of her grip and picked up the dagger, "If I can't find her, I can damn well bring her to me," He held up the dagger, "Dark One, with this dagger I command thee: Return!" Killian said and no one appeared, "Dark One, appear!" Killian yelled.

Calista walked over and took the dagger, "You're gonna hurt yourself," She scoffed as he glared at her, "Don't you know the rules of the dagger? I mean, we learnt everything about it, didn't we?" Calista asked.

"Yes, I damn well bloody remember... With it, you can summon the Dark One from any corner of the world," Killian said.

"And she's not returned because... She's not in this world," Calista said and walked away.

"Oi!" Killian yelled.

Calista turned around, "If you want to find out where she is... You're not gonna find it where she disappeared," Calista said and turned around entering the pawnshop.

The others followed her into the pawnshop and saw Mother Superior and Belle taking care of the Apprentice.

"Apprentice, that thing took Emma. Where did they go?" Killian asked.

"She is now where all darkness is born. In your realm," The Apprentice said.

"Then take us there," Killian said.

"I am too weak no, but this will help," The Apprentice conjured a green wand with a knobby brown nut on the end, "It is a gift from the sorcerer, from Merlin, on the day I became his apprentice. In it is all the light magic," The Apprentice said.

"It can take us to Emma?" Naomi asked.

"Not on its own. In order to cross realms, it must be wielded as it was forged, with both sides of the coin. Light and the dark," The Apprentice said and closed his eyes and dropped the wand.
