It's been one month since everything happened, after having that talk, Violet and Clementine were becoming closer even through the horrible stress of not knowing who killed James or what or when their next move will be.

Yes they both agreed to be friends until they were healed from the trauma of what happened with the raiders and all their losses, but it was clear neither of them could strictly act like a friend. And neither of them knew how or when to take it further.

Clementine would stop herself from going too far and fearing that Violet was just acting like she's okay with it but she'll panic and push Clementine away like she did before, and Violet was scared to take it far and hurt Clementine in case Violet wasn't healed enough. They both had some stuff to overcome still.

Clementine was sitting outside in the yard by AJ, she had started walking better without her crutches so she was feeling great, enjoying the warmth of the fire and her new ability to walk better again, she was still stressed of the killer outside, she thought maybe someone was passing through and James was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, but Clementine didn't feel like that. If it were the raiders why did they come back after two months just to disappear again? Was this some kind of game? Were they having fun?

They secured the school and fortified it, using the supplies they took from the raiders.

Clementine's thoughts were interrupted when she noticed the front door opening and Violet walked out, she had just woken up and was making her way over to Clementine and AJ.

She sat next to Clementine, closer than friends would normally sit next to each other, and Clementine's heart fluttered, she wanted to make sure Violet was ready and okay before doing anything to ruin this. Friends or not, she enjoyed being touchy with Violet no matter what.

She didn't need to label their relationship.

"Good morning sunshine." Clementine whispered sarcastically with a side smile which made Violet smile and reply with a simple nod.

"It's so cold." Violet said while rubbing her arms up and down her thighs trying to warm herself up by the fire.

Clementine agreed nodding at Violet and smiling softly, looking at her a moment too long, this made Violet a little nervous and she blushed a little.

"I can tell you're very cold from the blush on your cheeks." Clementine observed.

"Oh.." Violet said with self awareness starting to invade her and touched her right cheek.

Clementine looked at Violet's lips that were unusually rosy and Violet noticed that. Clementine knew she was caught staring but instead of looking away she looked into Violet's eyes. Searching.

Violet was too nervous to break the tension building up and cleared her throat and just looked away.

Clementine took Violet's hand and gasped "You're freezing Vi." She said. Forgetting why she took her hand in the first place but instead worrying about her.

Violet enjoyed the warmth of Clementine's hand and felt even more nervous after she caught Clementine staring at her like that.

"I get cold easily." She said with her voice becoming raspier than it usually was which did things to Clementine like it usually does.

Clementine liked that this was happening,  not the fact that Violet was freezing, but the fact that she had an excuse to feel her and hold her hand. She squeezed Violet's hand gently and then held it in both of hers and moved it up close to her mouth.

Violet stayed silent, watching Clementine's every move and wondering what will she do next. Clementine started blowing warm breaths on her hand and rubbing it, Violet felt goosebumps start to form on her skin and shuddered but tried to hide it, of course Clementine noticed that and smiled.
