((Laurie's POV))

It was a chilly day on March 24th, 2019. It was raining lightly. My sister, Chloe, and I lived in Civil Housing Quarters G, room 3-6, In City 45. It was around 4:32 when the administrator, John Geloski, made a television broadcast that a handful of citizens were to be relocated due to an "over population" of City 45.

"I am aware that this may be problematic for some, but think of this as a favor to our benefactors."

He would clear his throat and then continue to read a total of 37 names.

"...Kiersten Rowe...Brandon Jones...Chloe Branigan..."

I let out a sharp gasp and looked at Chloe, who had her mouth open wide, staring at the television.

"...Madisyn Gould...Dominic Johnsen...Laurie Branigan..."

I got shivers down my spine as they called my name.

"At least we'll be t-together!" Chloe said, almost cheerfully.

"Yeah.. at least.." I repeated, Slowly.

"...And finally, Carson Kjar. And again, this is all a favor to our benefactors. Have a safe, civil day." The man would say before the screen turned to a standard Combine logo.

I gritted my teeth and went into the bathroom, grabbing me and my sisters change of clothes and hair ties, and putting them into one suitcase. I walked over to our closet and pulled out a coat, handing Chloe hers before slipping mine on.

"I'll carry our stuff, ok?" I asked Chloe.
She responded with a nod and looked out the window. She rubbed her eyes and then put on her coat.

It was about 15 minutes until a Civil Protection officer banged on our door

"Civil Protection, open up!"

Bang. Bang. Bang.

I picked up our suitcase and grabbed my sisters hand, walking over to the door. When I opened it, the CP looked us up and down and said:

"Alright. Come with me. You'll be relocated to the industrial parts of City 14."

He pushed us out of our room and down the hallway. Down the street. And into the Train Station. The line wasn't that long, the wait was about 6-7 minutes max.

"God I hope that place is better than this one."

A woman in front of us said. She was old, looking like she was in her 50's. After they shoved her into one of the train cars, a Civil Protection officer approached me and my sister and said:

"Citizens, Apply"

Of course me and my sister stated our names, then our C.I.D.'s.

"Alright, get on." the CP barked at us.

After getting onto the train, we looked around and found a seat near the back. We sat down and held each other's hand.

It took about 20 minutes for everyone to board the train, after that the door shut with a loud click. A CP hit the train twice with one of his stun batons and a loud screech of metal was heard. The train started to move, and we slowly entered the dark tunnel, awaiting our fate.

//Holy biscuits this took like an hour to write and my fingers hurt, anyway if you read this then thanks and ily. Chapter one will be made soon.
