Get down to business

Someone was shaking me awake. At first, I thought it was Raven, so to get her to stop, I slapped in the area where she had been next to me all night. I hit skin hard.

"OW! What the hell!?" Raven screamed. She slapped me back which really woke me up.

"God your so rude Raven!" I slapped her on her thigh again. She glared at me.

"You hit me first!" She hit me back and before I knew it we got into a slapping match. We weren't hitting each other hard but I wasn't giving up on this fight.

"Girls! Stop it!" Someone yelled. We paused and stared at the girl, standing next to our bed. And in her full armor, there was Lexa.

"Sorry commander." Raven immediately apologized. I noticed Lexa trying to hold back in laugh so instead she smiled. I turned back to Raven and gave her the finger, grinning evilly.

"That's it Griffin!" Raven shoved me so quickly and I fell to the hard floor, flat on my back. I looked up at the ceiling in a daze.

"Clarke!" I heard Lexa yell. Her soft hands quickly grabbed at me and she pulled me up off the ground. I could hardly see, still in my daze. I leaned against Lexa, my arms snaking around her waist to keep me from falling again. She gripped me tightly. I rested my head on her shoulder and shut my eyes, waiting for the world to stop spinning.

"Oh my god, Clarke I am so sorry." Raven apologized. I hesitated. I knew she was only messing around but by the tight grip Lexa had on me, she thought differently.

"It's okay Raven. I know you were only messing around." I said quietly. I opened my eyes and looked up at Lexa, who was clenching her jaw tightly, like she always did when she angry. She was giving Raven the death glare.

"Lexa." I mumbled but got no response. "Lexa." I repeated, a little more loudly. She looked at me quickly before continuing her stare down. I squeezed her gently, making her lose focus. She looked down at me and smiled.

"I'm okay Lexa. We were just messing around." I told her. She relaxed and let go of me. I immediately missed her warmth. I sat back down on the bed and a guard from outside the tent announced his presence before entering our tent.

"The generals are assembled commander and are waiting for you." The guard said in trigedaslang. I didn't understand much except the word Heda. Lexa nodded her head and he quickly left. She turned back to us.

"It is time to discuss the treaty. Clarke, I will meet you outside in five minutes. Raven, a guard will be waiting to take you to Indra, who will show you some important things that needs help. There is breakfast on the table and I will see you two soon." Lexa says before leaving our tent. I got dressed quickly and sat down to eat my breakfast. It was better than anything we had on the ark.

"I'm sorry Raven, for hitting you earlier." I said after a few minutes of silence. She sat down next to me and started eating too.

"It's alright Clarke, I got my payback anyways. Good thing your commander girlfriend was there to save you though." Raven said, winking at me. I groaned.

"She's not my girlfriend Raven. I don't think she likes me in that way." I told her.

"I think she does, but I don't know her that well. But I can certainly tell that you like her, a lot." Raven says.

"Raven, sometimes I hate that you know me so well. But, I don't even know if I like her like that. I've never really been in a serious relationship." I said solemnly. Yes, I had a thing with Finn. But that was a part of my life I shut out and I planned to keep it that way.

"You will realize your feelings soon enough Clarke. These things take time." She said. I nodded my head in agreement and we ate our food in silence. I cleaned up and made my way outside to a fire pit, where I saw Lexa speaking with Indra. They stopped talking once I got near though.

"Are you ready Clarke?" Lexa asked me. I was nervous but ready as ever.

"Yes commander." I replied. She nodded her and we walked alongside each other toward a building. I messed with the sleeve of my jacket, trying to think of anything else. Lexa stopped suddenly at the entrance and I turned to her.

"You will do great Clarke, do not worry. Do what you think is best, no matter the outcome. Ste yu." Lexa said. She was telling me to be strong, just like Gustus had told her the day he died. She grabbed my hand and gave it a quick squeeze. My cheeks turned red and butterflies erupted in my stomach. And for a moment, I had forgotten about everything.

"Let's do this." I said, smiling encouragingly. We walked inside and I had wished that she was still holding my hand. Lexa went to the head of the table and I sat a couple seats away from her. She raised her hand to stop the talking going on.

"Today we are here to discuss the Sky people. We are not to make an alliance with them as we had for the war against Mount Weather, but it would be beneficial for both parties to have a treaty. In the treaty, neither of us will attack unless provoked and we will be at peace with one another but we will not work with them. If anyone has anything to say, they may speak." Lexa said. She was being very serious and even though I loved the real Lexa, I enjoyed commander Lexa as well. She was so strong and powerful.

"What about the weapons the sky people possess? They might attack us for our land and would wipe us out easily with their weapons. We should take them out while we have the chance." A older man said. A few others murmured in agreement, while others sat there quietly thinking.

"We will not wipe out the sky people, unless they have deserved it. Clarke, could you reassure them in what your people plan to do once the treaty is agreed upon?" Lexa asked me. All heads turned to look at me and I gulped.

"We have no need for more land and we have the resources we need right now. We do not wish to lose people so we do not under any circumstances want to go to war. As for the weapons, only our guards use them and are not allowed to fire unless instructed." I informed the clan leaders. This was all honest truth. I was not going to war with Lexa's people, I never wanted to.

"I will give you time to think about this information. In a few hours, we will return to further discuss. You are all dismissed." Lexa said after a few minutes of silence. The generals all left quickly, talking amongst one another. I breathed a sigh of relieve that the meeting hadn't gone as bad as I thought it would've.

"I am hopeful Clarke. I think they might agree to the treaty." Lexa said hopefully.

"I agree." I say. I got up out of my chair and started to leave before Lexa stopped me.

"Would you like to go... um.. to go hunting with me to pass the time Clarke? I remembered you said you wanted to go out into the forest and learn something new as well." Lexa said shyly. I bubbled with excitement at the thought of spending more time with Lexa and learning new things.

"Of course Lexa, I'd love to hunt with you." I said, smiling brightly at her. She returned the gesture and we hurried out of the room. I followed her to a hut where she fetched two bow and arrows and her dagger that she had given me. I took it and put it back in its sheath. It felt nice having it back. Lexa then handed me a bow and some arrows.

"Ready?" She asked.

"Totally."
