A/N: hey guys! So I thought about it for a while and was like." well it's close to Christmas and it's the sixth of December so why not make a small Christmas love story?" So now I have thought and decided to make one.  I don't know how long this will be, it might be finished in January, but I'll try to update at least three times a week, maybe two. I'm not sure yet but I know I'm gonna keep writing this one  I hope everyone will like this just as much as I love writing this!

"two steps to the right, then five steps straight, then they'll be on the left side," I whisper to myself as I bring the plate of food for the family of three at their table.

My name is Amelia,  I am an eighteen-year-old girl just getting out of high school and already graduated for the year and getting ready for college, but people say I'm not eligible for college because of my vision.

My boss even tells me I shouldn't be working here anymore since my visions only getting worse.

But I don't want to stop.  I want to be independent like anyone else out there.

All I wish for is to be able to live happily ever after in the end.  I want to have a husband and raise a family, hoping I'll be even able to see them.

"You got that?" My friend Amy whispers to me.

I nod.

I slowly took steps to the right.  Two steps to the right, one, two. I say in my head as I walk towards the family of three.

Five steps forward.  My mind told me as I took five steps forward. Now they'll be on the left side. I turned to the left and saw  a couple about in their forties with their child who looked like he was in his twenties

"Hello," I say, smiling and setting their food down. "Sorry for how long it took."

The woman looks at me and gives me a sweet smile." it's okay sweetheart, thank you."

I nod then when I turn I hear the twenty-year-old gasp." what's that on your  jeans belt loop?"

I look over then down at my jeans belt loop.  I forgot I put my cane there just in case of any situation and my eyes widen and I stare at them.

"I--it's my cane."

The man just stared at me as I quickly walk away.  I bump into at least two tables as Amy gently grabs my shoulders and steadies me as we walk into a separate room.

"What's going on Amelia?"

I took a shaky breath trying to look at her eyes, barely able to see most of her features anymore. "I-i just got scared about telling some customers about my vision."

She nods, then hugs me as I hug her back.

I and Amy have been best friends since seventh grade.  We're so lucky because we've always had our classes together since we found out about my eyesight at the beginning of high school. So, Amy's always made sure she gets into the same classes as me so she can help me whenever she can, with really anything.  I'm so glad I have her or I would've already been dead in homework by now.

After a minute I hear someone walk in then push me towards Amy making me stumble and go close to Amy because I get scared since can't see what's going on. Yeah I know, I'm pathetic.

I hear Amy gritting her teeth and she steadies me again. I know what this meant; Britney was in the room.

"Move out of my way blind girl!" She screams as she walks away snickering.

I say nothing, trying to look at her features or any part of her but it's getting blurry.

All I can see is her blonde hair, tons of clinking bracelets on her wrists, and her wearing some jeans and a bright pink top over her apron.

I look back at Amy who is glaring at Britney, and I grab her arm gently and whisper." she's not worth it Amy, she's just a small little pesky fly trying to bother us when we can just easily swat it away."

I was able to see Amy's grin.  I feared she'd grab the flyswatter and act like there was an actual fly in Britney's hair just so she can hit Britney with a flyswatter. (Again.)

I just grab her shoulder shaking my head slightly.

I hear her sigh and she walks out with me holding her arm just so I know where to go.

After work, Amy drove me home since I can't see the road.

I look out the window able to see the snow falling and the trees covered in Christmas lights. The newly fallen snow sparkling in the sunset light.

As we drive I  look out the window wondering. 'Will I ever find my true love? Will anyone ever love me as more than a friend? Will some guy come to swipe me off my feet and take me away from all these troubles?' These thoughts race through my head as we drove in complete silence.

When I got out of the car, I took out my cane and unfolded it. I heard the tip hit the ground making a small noise like a rock hitting the tile. I've always loved this noise because every time I use it I make up a beat in my head making me smile since I love music.

I took one step further than another, then another, then after the fourth step, I heard Amy scream"AMELIA!" Just as I fell and slipped on my bottom.

I felt Amy's hands help me up then her eyes fixing on me worried, placing my cane in my hand again. "Are you okay? Are you hurt? Did you break anything?"

All I could do is look at her then manage a smile, then a small laugh, then me laughing hard and Amy starting to laugh with me. In the end. I knew we would both be fine.  Whether I was gonna be completely blind or not, I knew I was gonna be okay.
