Chapter one- Ice.
She stares at her china teacup, the tiny chip in the brim. The piano played in the back. The same melody, over and over and over. Emptiness. Emptiness filled the air like smoke. I admired her; we all did. I don't think we could ever come to accept that though.
Her perfect pale lips, her crystal blue eyes. Ice. Her skin was like ice. Her posture was elegant as a sweet and innocent smile crossed her porcelain face. It wouldn't take much to break her, well that's what he thought. Him, that's her male companion. The tall blonde man pulled her along by her petite hand, a look of slight fear crossed her face. He glared into my eyes. His name, his name was William. His eyes were green like the rainforests, a face like a diamond. His face was like a diamond, so narrow. They both looked like dolls.
The sky was dark, snow covered the land like dusting. It was like a fairy-tale, fairy-tales they always have a happy ending. And yet I still wonder, where is mine?
Chapter 2-
A wedding, the wedding was happening. Where Mary would marry William. Mary, my one love. She's gone. I used to wish we could elope. Memories flood back, her pretty face twirling me around that night. That night was enticing, the stars shone as her smile shined like the moon. Iridescent, her eyes were glimmering. I placed her veil on her head. She looked elegant, I let out a gasp as she grinned. "Am I doing the correct thing?" Mary asked quietly, "I love him, but this all feels so rushed." She let out a sigh. If I speak, I'll start sobbing so I give her a nod. Her rhinestone tiara, rhinestones. His love is like a rhinestone, fake. He wants her money, her land. He doesn't love her. My heart starts to sink like the setting sun.
She slowly walks down the ivory isle, a white bouquet in her hand. She gives me a small wave. Mary's dress, a lace corset with a long flowy white skirt. Her veil dragged along the floor, she looked heavenly. An angel, that's the word that describes her. I love her, I love her I love her I love her. She would never understand. William would kill me, and Mary. They stand at the now rose covered alter, William, he gives me a quick glare and goes back to gazing lovingly into her eyes. Her Icey eyes.
Their lips touch, my stomach feels like it's dropped. My one love now tied to this monster of a man. Rage rises in my throat. I'll never have the chance to dance with her again, never be able to hold her as the sun sinks into the foggy horizon. I've lost everything. Oh Mary, words can't describe my love for you. If only you knew, if only they understood. No matter how many love letters I write, that's still not enough.
Chapter 3- Ashes
I tighten my corset and pull my dress over my head. I glance at the mirror, I pull my hair out of its bun and sink to the floor, holding the rose from her bouquet close to my chest. I sob, I sob until I feel nothing. I'm only greeted by the cold silence covering the moor. I need her, I need her so badly. But does she need me? That is the question that floods my mind. My heart feels like it's being ripped out. Why do I feel so much agony?
I pull the match from my satchel and remove my lace gloves. I place the flaming stick onto the pillar of their abode. Smoke fills the air, twisting and twirling. Screams. I hide behind a thick tree, its branches entwining themselves into my lose braid. I watch maids dash past me. I sit and laugh; I laugh and laugh and laugh until I feel nothing anymore. The building goes up in amber flames, a layer of a grey lining covers the sky. Everyone makes it out. But where's William?
"Mary!" I yell, she pulls me close as she sobs onto my shoulder. "He's dead Elizabeth! He died in my arms!" She screams as she pulls me closer. Her warm embrace, her hands around my waist. I throw my arms around her. I got it. I did this. I'm a monster. "Mary...." I whisper. "Yes Eliza?" She mutters.
