Chapter 1

(Im going to skip the things that happen to Cole in the beginning.)
Y/n's POV
I wait for Cole outside the nurse's office. I start tapping on my watch.
I then hear Cole scream bloody murder. And I role my eyes.

Time skip

Someone bumped into Cole, causing him to drop his books. I help pick them up.
"Thanks Y/n." He says
"It's no biggie." I say whilst passing him the books
Then Melanie comes over.

"Hey." She smiles jogging over to us
Cole gets up
"Hey, Melanie." He said sounding nervous
"Hey Mel." I nod
"Hey, you good?" She asks
"Me? Yeah... No. I'm great, actually." He replies

I role my eyes at this, it's so obvious he likes her.

"Maybe you should tell your face." She laughs
"Is it that obvious." He says sounding more nervous.
She smiles even more.
"You were with me that night. You saw what is saw, right. And Y/n do you believe me?" He asks
"of course I believe you Cole." I say whilst smiling
"Cole... didn't Dr. Davis say not to talk about this stuff?" She says softly
"Big Carl talks a lot about 'prioritizing positive memories,' like the time he saw Rihanna at Outback Steakhouse." he says

I feel a little left out of this conversation to be honest, but I'm not going to tell them that.

She snickers and says
"Look, that night you're talking about had running and hiding, but it also had kissing." She says smiling and looking up to him

Cole looks down to the floor and looks back up.
"Maybe just remember the kissing." She says while touching his hair "ya know?"
"Okay, I'm deffo third wheeling." I say
"Sorry y/n." Cole says sounding embarrassed
"Yeah we're sorry." She laughs

Then her friends come.
"Yo noodle!" Jimmy says whilst putting an arm around her.
"Please don't call me that." She says sounding embarrassed

Ugh this knucklehead is ruining my ship. I give him a death stare.

He rolls his eyes at me. "Come on, it's the cutest nickname!"
"I thought you gave me the cutest nickname." Diego whines
"There's nothing cute about you, Diego." Boom boom says
I hold back my laughter.
"Touché, Boom Boom." Jimmy says
"Get off my dick, jimmy." Says sounding annoyed
I smile at this.

"How you holding up, little man?" Jimmy asks
"Me? Good." Cole says
"Cole's not a little man, you knucklehead." I mumble under my breath I don't think they heard that
"Let me know if you need anything, like a ride to the hospital or something." He says
"You're a dickhead, Jimmy I say loudly so he can hear.
"Calm down, Y/N." He says rolling his eyes
"Yeah keep rolling your eyes." I say sounding annoyed
Then one of Jimmy's friends comes up.
"Yo, Jimmy! You coming to the lake this weekend?
"Yeah, boy! DJ Jimmy Jammy will be in full effect." He says sounding like a frat boy
"You guys wanna walk with us?" Melanie asks
"No, I'm just gonna go on my own." Cole replies
"Yeah, I'm going with Cole." I smile
"I admire your independence, little siblings." He says while touching Cole's shoulder
"I could never be cool with not having friends. Peace, coleslaw."
I flip him off.
"Cole are you okay?" I ask
He looks at Melanie "yeah, I'm fine."
"Alright, lets go to class." I say whilst grabbing his arm

In class
"Faust was a man who must ponder questions-"
Everything was just a blur since I wasn't paying attention. Until this girl came in.

She wore black boots, an black dress and a brown cardigan. She also had a pair of glasses on.

"All right, all you lions. This is our transfer student, Phoebe Atwell. She comes to us from the Guardian Angel Program, where upstanding adult citizens nominate disenfranchised youths from juvenile hall to assimilate back into society. Let's give her a warm lion welcome." The principal explains

"Roa--" cole says
I stifle a laugh, and he gives me a glare
"Class.."
Everyone enthusiastically roars.
"So, phoebe, tell us three things about yourself."
Melanie gives her a disgusted look
Phoebe steps closer.
"Well, I think snakes are the most misunderstood reptiles..."
A concerned look appears onto my face.
"My favourite movie vacillates between Deliverance or anything by Rob Reiner..."

Cole and I give a "I see why" look.
"And I'm late." She says while smiling
"What are you talking about? you're right on time." The principal says
"Oh no, Principal Highbridge, my period." She says
Melanie gives a, yet again a disgusted look.
"I'm 9 days late." She says while folding her glasses.
"Oh."
"And Goddamn it, I was on fence, but I think I might keep it now. Because looking at all of your beautiful faces, I.." She exhales "I'm just so overcome with optimism for our future... I just wanna fucking scream."
She chuckles.

She then screams which catches us by surprise. She finally finishes, and then shrugs. Melanie looks disgusted.
"Hey, gingerpop, move your ass and leave the yogurt."
He gets up and phoebe sits in his seat. She had a cat tattoo on her wrist.

Who is this girl.... she's a badass!!
