After what happened yesterday, I started ignoring my mom. It's not like I had anything to say to her anyways...
I carried in with my day but I kept thinking of Zhongli. I shook my head. Stop being weird Y/n. I mean sure he's handsome but you're getting married. I sighed. I told my dad I was heading out to do some shopping.I head to the market. As I walk among the crowd I felt a hand tug at my sleeve. "Y/n-neesan!" I hear a small voice behind me. I turn around and see my friend Qiqi standing beside me. I bend down to her level and she wrapped her arms around me, giving me a tight hug. I pat her head. "What are you doing here?" "Uh I came here for some...uh..."She hesitated for a moment "Cocogoat milk!" I giggled. She's the same as always. "Don't you mean coconut milk?" She took out her small notebook and began flipping through it before responding. "Yup, coconut milk." I nodded. "I'll be on my way." I said to her. She nodded back and we parted ways.
(Qiqi is adorable ✨😔✨)I run through the streets and stopped by a stall with jewelry. I picked up a necklace with a small blue gem and observed it. "You have fine taste in jewelry." I heard a voice beside me. I saw a boy with messy black hair smiling at me. "Oh pleased to meet you." He knelt down and kissed my hand. I slightly blushed. "I um. Y-Y/n." I stuttered. "That's a nice name. I'm Liang." (Not me spending 20 minutes looking for some Chinese names 🤪)He leaned forward stared closely at the necklace. "Blue's not really my color but it's your choice." I leaned toward me still smiling. "O-oh I was just looking." I said before putting it back. He sighed. "I'm feeling a bit generous, is there anything you'd like?" "I-I-" I was cut off my a familiar voice. "Y/n it's nice to see you again! Oh is this a friend of yours?" I turned around and saw Zhongli. I started panicking and I grabbed his arm. "Liang t-this is my friend Zhongli!" Liang looked at him and smiled. "I take it you're her boyfriend?" I saw red hues on Zhongli's face. "We aren't dating or anything!" I quickly said. "Oh, sorry for assuming." He apologized to us. "It's ok. Hmm Zhongli are you here to pay me back?" I turned to him. He looked down in embarrassment. "I forgot the money." "Uwaaah. Are you serious?!" "I-if you want I can go to my workplace and get some?" I sighed. "Fine. It was nice talking to you Liang." "Same to you." He waved goodbye and Zhongli and I walked away.
"So where do you work?" I asked. "The Wangsheng Funeral Parlor. I work as a consultant." I made an 'o' face. That sounds depressing. "What about you? Uh if you don't mind me asking." "I work at my parents restaurant. Part time." We stayed silent after that. At some point I caught him staring at me. "Why are you staring at me? Is there something on my face?" We stopped walking and he looked away before responding. "I was just thinking, would you mind having me as your boyfriend?"He smiled innocently making me flustered. "W-why? I-I mean, I wouldn't mind..." I started twiddling my thumbs while slightly blushing. He made 'o' face and we continued walking. I glanced at him every now and then, his face faintly red. He looks really cute.
We walked up to a building which I assumed was the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor. We entered and I saw a young girl greet us. "Mr.Zhongli, you're back." He nodded. "I came to get something for my friend." Zhongli gestured to me and I followed him. "So...how much was it again?" I smiled slyly. "3 billion Mora." He stared at me wide eyed and I giggled. "I'm just kidding, 200 Mora." He frowned, grabbed the coins and placed them in a pouch. He walked over and handed it over to me. "Thank you very much." I smiled at him.
Just then, I heard a voice behind us. "Hey Zhongli I got what you asked for!" I turned around and saw and orange haired boy. "A friend of yours?" Zhongli nodded. "The name's Childe. It's nice to me you." "Y/n, same to you." He put his hands on his hips. "I was going to grab lunch, would you two like to join me? I clapped my hands together. "Sure!"
We arrived at the Wanmin Restaurant. An eccentric young girl skipped toward us. "Back again I see." She said with a bubbly smile. She looked at me. "I'm Xiangling. I'll take you to your seats. She guided us to a table and we sat down. We ordered our food and made small talk. "So you work with the Fatui?" I said. Childe nodded. I've heard stories about them. Never thought I'd meet one. "So, Zhongli, I'm guessing you hadn't dropped your habit of forgetting to bring Mora with you." He turned his head to me. "So how did you two meet." He wore a sweet smile on his face. I shook my head. "We met at a tea house aaaand Mr.Zhongli forgot to pay me back." I shook my head and sighed. "You're the same as always." Zhongli stayed quiet until Xiangling arrived. "Food's ready! Enjoy!" She served us our food and smiled before rushing back into the kitchen. Childe's eye twitched. "Is there seriously nothing else besides chopsticks here? You know I can't use em." Zhongli chuckled. "You should practice in your spare time." He said taking a sip of the tea. "Well I'm a busy man. Anyways, Y/n help yourself. The food here is amazing!" "Thank you!" He smiled and we dug in.
After we finished our meal, I sighed. "Do you want me to pay or?" Childe shook his head. "It's fine, It'll be my treat. Unless...Zhongli would like to pay." He smirked at him and Zhongli looked away. After Childe payed for our meal, we stood up and left. "Welp, I'd love to stay and chat but like I said, I'm a busy man. I'll be off now." He nodded to us both and left. Zhongli and I were left alone. We stared at each other for a while until Zhongli nervously looked away. "I uh. Would you like me to...walk you home. I-I'm not to busy." "U-uh, sure?"
On the way home he asked me a few questions. "Do you know who you're marrying?" I shook my head. "I haven't met him. My parents just told me that I was going to be engaged in a few weeks." "Oh..." We didn't talk much after that. Just before I reached my house, I saw my mother rushing out. "Y/n where've you been? And who is this?!" She looked at Zhongli. I sighed and turned to him. "Don't mind her. Anyways, thank you for walking me home." He smiled. "If you need anything don't hesitate to ask." He nodded before leaving.
My mother kept pestering me with questions as I entered my house. "He's just a friend. Why do you even care?" "I'm just surprised you actually went out and made friends. It's been years Y/n." "It's none of your business what I do so stop bothering me." I growled. "I just wanted to let you know we're meeting the Huiqing family tomorrow evening." I rolled my eyes, wishing I had ignored her and went straight to my room. I collapsed onto my bed and sighed. I wasn't looking forward to tomorrow. Correction, I really wasn't looking forward to tomorrow. I sat up and tucked my legs into my chest. I always feel at ease around Zhongli. I felt my face warm at the thought of him. And then it hit me. Do I have feelings for him?
