I  turned  to  go  back  to  the  kitchen  to  throw  away  my  now  empty  Yoohoo  can.  I  walked  over  to  the  trash  can  to  throw  it  away  before  I  spotted  a  familiar  figure  sitting  on  the counter.

The person had blonde hair and was wearing fairly new yellow converse. He was looking away from me and out the kitchen window, he didn't seem to notice I was there. Where do I know him from? I dropped the can in the garbage with a clang, surprising the person and alerting him to my presence. He looked at me with a slightly confused look, like he knew me from somewhere. I decided what better thing to do than introduce myself.

"Hey, enjoying the party?"

"Yeah, sure. I'm surprised they have Yoohoo, I haven't had some in a while." He said, still looking at me like he recognized me.

"That's good to hear. My names Dipper, I'm one of the hosts. You might've seen my sister Mabel around. She's wearing a magenta dress. It's our birthday today." I paused. "Do I know you from somewhere? You look really familiar."

"I was thinking the same thing. Were you at the mall today by any chance?"

"Yeah, I went with my sister for most of the day."

His smiled suddenly, and he had a look of recognition in his eyes. "I knew you were familiar! You're the kid from Hot Topic!"

The pieces clicked in my mind and I smiled back. "Oh yeah! I thought I recognized your hair from someplace. Who'd you get the invite from?" I asked him.

"My friend told me about this party his cousin invited him to, so I decided to tag along, and here I am!"

"Oh, who's your friends cousin?"

"I think his name's Lee. Not too sure though."

"Yeah, Lee sounds right."

There was a moment of awkward silence, before I spoke up. "So... you winked at me..."

"I did."

"What- what did you mean by that?"

"I just caught you staring, so I figured you saw something you liked, because I sure did." He said with yet another wink.

That caught me off guard, and I felt heat rising to my cheeks. "O-oh"

"W-well, let's go find my sister, and I'll introduce you to her."

"Alright, where is she?"

"I think I saw her go outside a little while ago."

"Okay, shall we?" He asked, holding out his arm.

"Hah, sure." I say, taking his arm with a smile. "By the way, I never caught your name?"

"I never threw it."

I laughed at that. "Ok, but for real. What's your name?"

"Bill Cipher." He said with a grin.

"Nice to meet you Bill Cipher."

"Nice to meet you too, Pinetree."

I gave him a confused look. "Pinetree? My name isn't-"

"I know. It suits you though." He poked the necklace resting on my chest just as we rounded the corner outside. I spotted Mabel sitting on the porch with someone I didn't recognize. They had blonde hair pulled up in a high braid. They were wearing a purple flannel with high waisted light blue jeans.

"Hey Mabel. I wanted to introduce you to someone." Both Mabel and the other person turned around. I recognized the other person to be Pacifica.

I gestured to Bill. "This is Bill Cipher. I ran into him at the mall earlier, and he's friends with one of Lee's cousins."

Mabel smiled at him. "Wow. What a coincidence!" She stood up and held out her hand. "Hi there! I'm Mabel, Dip Dot here's sister."

Bill unlinked our arms to shake her hand. "Cool to meet you. Who's your friend?"

Mabel's face turned slightly pink as she turned to Pacifica and helped her up. "This is Pacifica, my, uh, girlfriend"

"Whoa cool! I didn't know you swung that way Paz." I said to her. Mabel already came out to me last year, around the same time I came out to her.

Pacifica brushed her hair out of her face as she looked at me. "I could say the same about you, Dipper." I was confused for a minute until I realized what she meant.

"Oh, no, uh.. Bill and I aren't-"

"Yet~" Bill whispered very close to my ear. So close that his breath sent chills down my spine. The single word was enough to make my face red. Mabel started to laugh.

"Alrighty bro bro. We'll leave you two out here to figure things out. I'll watch after the house for a bit." The two girls went back inside to the loud house of music. I sat on the porch steps and looked up at the stars. The sun had set long ago and the only light in the area was from the moon and the house behind me. I took a deep breath and relaxed for a bit. Even though the party was at my own house where I felt safer, it was still a bit too chaotic for my liking.

"Not really one for parties, are you?" I jumped a bit at the sound of Bill's voice. I completely forgot he was here.

"No. I mean, I like them, they're fun, but they can be a bit much. Especially when my sister's the queen of parties." I answered as he sat down on my right, close to me, but not close enough to be uncomfortable.

"Ha, I can be like that sometimes. It's mostly if the person who invited me isn't there, or if I don't know anyone. My friend ran off with someone right away and I couldn't find his cousin anywhere either. So I was just waiting in the kitchen for either of them to come back."

There was a bit of silence before I asked him, "Do you think your friend is looking for you?"

He shook his head. "Probably not. Even if he was, I'm happy just sitting here with you."

I smiled at him and he scooted closer. I leaned my head on his shoulder. We sat there for a bit just looking off into the forest before I decided to try and start some conversation.

"I'm surprised that no one tried to bring any beer here."

He nodded in agreement. "Yeah. With a party this size I wouldn't be surprised if someone snuck some beer in. I did see someone with a box of Capri Suns though."

I giggled. "Oh yeah. That was Nate. He said to consider it a birthday present."

"Your laugh is so perfect."

I turned to look at him with a slight blush. "Oh, huh. Th-Thanks." I smiled at him. He turned his head to look at me as well. His blonde hair was sparkling in the moonlight, while his crystal blue eyes met my chocolate brown ones, and he blushed slightly after looking at my face for so long.

I just then realized how close we were. Our sides were touching, and at some point our hands had interlocked without my knowledge.e seemed to notice this too, and instead of making any move to distance us, he reached up to brush hair out of my face. "Your eyes are so perfect too.~"

He smiled a bit at my growing blush, still staring into my eyes. I barely noticed us moving closer together. I decided to return the compliment. "I could say the same thing about you."

His eyes slid closed as our lips met. I was a slight bit surprised, but was expecting it none the less. I closed my eyes as well as my hands moved to wrap around his neck. His right hand moved to gently hold my cheek as his left arm hugged around my waist. I relaxed even more and we held that position for a while, just existing in each others embrace, feeling his soft lips beneath mine. I know we just met, but this is practically perfect. Just like his eyes.

Sadly air became needed and we reluctantly broke apart just enough to breathe, but not enough to tear ourselves away from each other. I smiled while looking at his moon-lit face. This has been the best birthday ever.

Little did we know, standing right on the other side of the door, was a grinning Mabel holding her phone, squealing like a fangirl while scrolling through her recent photos of her new OTP.
