Love Me Forever?

Chapter 1

October 5, 1943

The smell of freshly cooked turkey made its way to the dining room. The warmth of the fire kept the room from being chilly.

"Children, supper is ready!" Miss Peregrine announced. The sound of footsteps echoed from the stairs to the dining area. I smiled at Miss Peregrine whilst making my way to my seat.

"Thank you again Victor for helping me set up the table" She smiled as she looked at her clock counting every second, calculating the time before reset. 

As everyone is getting settled in their seats, I sighed in jealousy at how happy the two couples are. Enoch with Olive and Jake with Emma. How I missed feeling loved. The last time I felt love was when Olive and I were close friends. I had feelings for her but she has no intentions to give any of her feelings back to me as it was reserved for Enoch.

"Victor?" Someone called out.

I snapped back into reality, responding with a weak "Hm?"

I hear the younger children giggled. 

"He's day dreaming again" Hugh continued giggling. I stared at him until he stopped giggling.

"Oh come on, Victor, you will find love eventually" Olive said as she tighten her grip on Enoch's Hand.

I smiled weakly and started eating my dinner. Soon, I will find love. Someone will eventually love me. I kept telling myself... but when?

September 16, 2020

"I don't know Don, I don't want to leave give out my child to some stranger!" 

"But she's Creeping the crap out of me!"

It's always a night routine for them to fight. My mom and my step father fighting over which home I should go. I laughed, trying to lighten the mood. 'even my own parents think I am some crazy person' I thought to myself 

'Its okay Nylah, they'll eventually see that you aren't a freak' I hugged myself in attempt to be comforted.' All will be good' I kept repeating to myself as I fell asleep.

As the heat of the sun hit my face, I sighed and opened my eyes slowly. I went out of my room to see a huge mess all around the house. What the hell happened? I looked around to see my mother cleaning up while crying.

"Mom, let me help you with that" I gently said, taking the broom from her.

"Your father, he wants a divorce if  you aren't sent to a home" She said robotically

"Mom, you are really choosing your new family over me?" I looked at her eyes, finding a hint of regret at what she said.

She didn't reply but simply gave me a paper to sign that I will be in the Correction Facility for children. My heart felt as if it was crushed. My own mother is willing to give me up, just to save her marriage and her new family. 

"You need to sign it Ny" she said weakly. 

I dropped everything and went directly to my room. How could she just abandon me? 

October 5, 1943

We went to the Living room for Horace to show off his new dreams. We all settled down and I sat with my dear little sister Bronwyn. She cuddled up next to me as I hugged her tight. Oh how I miss my sister. Ever since someone gave up their life for me to be alive, I owe to my sister to love and protect her.

"Alrighty then. Children settled down for the movie"  Miss Peregrine said as she turn the light switch off.

Horace's dreams are always about clothes. He loves suits especially the expensive ones. Usually when it's time for a movie I just fall asleep -which by the way I did- but I was awoken from the "woos" and who is that questions. 

"Miss Peregrine who is that girl?" Hugh asked

Miss Peregrine looked at the girl's image and smiled. This made  me look at the movie and saw a very beautiful girl. She was definitely not in the same time as we are but she felt like she was one of us. 

" You will know soon children" She then led us to out of the house to reset the day.

Whilst waiting for her to reset, I kept thinking about the girl in Horace's dream. She had a fair skin, deep but beautiful emerald green eyes and short dark brown hair. I wonder who she is? Will she be visiting us?

My mind wondered off as Miss Peregrine did reset. It was a minute or so when I felt a little nudge from Bronwyn. 

"Victor, its time to go to bed" she groggily said. I carried her all the way up to her bed and tucked her in. I went out to see Miss Peregrine together with Jake, Emma, Olive and Enoch.

"Alright everyone please assemble at the study I have some important news for all of you" Miss Peregrine said as she hurriedly walked away to check on the kids.

The five of us sat down in the study.
"Victor, is everything alright?" Enoch asked

"Hmm? Yes It's just that I'm curious about the girl in Horace's dream"

Jacob pitched in "She looks like a peculiar"

Everyone agreed. Before anyone of us to talk again Miss Peregrine went in with her smoke pipe in her hand.

"Alright children, tonight someone special is coming to this house." She explained

"She is younger than all of you but older than the other children so it is reasonable that you five will fetch her from the pier."

We all looked at each other with confusion.

"Please be on time and don't make a mess. It is hard enough to kill that annoying land lord and the police twice a month. Give me a break" she said taking in some smoke .

"What does she look like?" Emma asked

"She's short, fair skinned, green eyes and short hair. She is the granddaughter of Hummingtons. The man who helped Abe catch hollows"

"When will she be here Miss Peregrine?" Olive chimed in

"Well, in exactly 5 minutes and 30 seconds" she smiled as she shooed us all out of the house.

We took the carriage and went to the pier.

I thought of the mysterious girl once again and smiled. I guess I am gonna meet you.
