The gunshot pierced through the air. For a moment, it filled the alley with noise before numbing silence returned.

The grinning man remained still, frozen in time for a split second - the second before he collapsed onto the floor.

Yangyang and Jeno looked down at him in shock. From the hole in his forehead trickled blood that ran down his skin and formed a small, glistening puddle on the cold asphalt.

From behind the other man came a disapproving sigh.

In surprise and horrified by the sight, he turned around hastily. He raised his hand, held his gun in a tight grip, finger on the trigger ready to shoot.

Yet he didn't even manage to turn around fully before another shot pierced through the cold air and the man's skull after, leaving him lifeless in a split second.

Yangyang and Jeno both looked up to where the shots came from only to find a calm-looking girl glaring at them with a judging expression.

She stepped closer quickly, unsure whom to look at first.

Coming to a halt in front of Yangyang, she cupped his face with her hands and turns his head sideways and up and down before she looked at the rest of his body. Scratches and bruises here and there but that was it.

"You seem fine," she noted and left at once, leaving him baffled.

"I'm alright," he agreed. "What are you doing here?"

Jie ignored him.

Crouching down in front of the familiar-looking boy, he inspected her. When she lifted his shirt just enough to get a look at his bleeding abdomen, he suddenly frowned.

"Clerk?" he asked in his hoarse voice.

Jie looked up at him with a raised brow. "That's how you remember me?" She sighed. "I'm hurt."

"I'm hurt worse," Jeno retorted at which the girl couldn't help but smile. She opened her thin jacket, took it off and pressed it onto the boy's wound.

"You're right," she said. "Let's get you out of here."

Right as she said that, Yangyang bent down and put his arm around Jeno who let out a fleeting, painfilled groan before using all his strength to push himself up.

With Jeno pretty much hanging off Yangyang, the three slowly made their way out of the alley.

"Where are we going?" Jeno asked as he clung onto the other two.

"I parked right there," Jie replied, roughly indicating towards where the car stood. She quickly felt the younger of the boys glare at her, so she looked at him briefly. "I had a job interview here and was on my way home when I saw you two about to get killed so I helped out. Happy?"

Taken aback by how defensive she sounded, he swallowed hard, looked away when he felt a little uncomfortable. "I was just wondering."

Jie hummed in acknowledgement. "Sure," she mumbled.

"It's not that I don't trust you-" Yangyang attempted to defend himself but she cut him off.

"It's not that," she agreed. "You just think I might do something stupid." He hesitated afterwards but when he noticed the way she looked at him, he realized that lying wasn't an option.
