The young pup was woken by her father calling her name, "Yes, dad?" she replied as she took a step outside of the den. "Rose, I have something very exiting to tell you!" Rose's father said. Her ears pricked up, and she smiled "What is it? What is it?" Rose said nearly jumping up and down. Her father looked down his snout to see her, and let out a giggle when he saw her face. "We are going to hunt today, are you exited to learn?" he already knew the answer to that question though. "Really?! Oh my god, this is the best day ever!" Rose really did start jumping up and down this time. "Now, go wake your brother. He must come too." Her father knew she hated waking him up, but so did he, so it was usually her job. Rose grumbled and her ears went down, no matter how much she fussed about it, she always had to to it. Rose stamped into the den, mumbling something under her breath. She walk to her brother a bent down next to his sleeping head. "Wake up." She grumbled, he didn't wake up. "THORN, WAKE UP!" Rose barked. Thorn woke up with a snort that sounded similar to a pot-bellied pig. "What is so important you had to wake me, Rose?" Thorn growled. "We are going hunting today! Dad is gonna teach us!" Rose replied expecting a "Yay!" or "Woohoo!" to come from Thorn's snout, but all she heard was: "Just bring me back a rabbit or two." Thorn sighed. Rose thought for a minute, before she knew exactly what to say to him. "You don't come, you don't eat, but it's okay, go back to bed! Dad won't mind." Rose made and evil grin and started to walk away. Shortly after she heard Thorn scramble up to his paws, stumbling and falling trying to catch up with her. Their father looked back and saw them coming. He gestured for them to follow him, and they did so.

They came to a grey path with strange creatures with wheels and lights running across it, and stopped. "Dad, what is this? It is cold, and it smells of gasoline here." Rose said putting a paw onto the grey path. "This is what the humans call, a road." Her father replied watching the wheeled creatures running across it still. Thorn seemed scared of the creatures, and the "road" for some reason. Their father leaped across the road, and howled for them to come too. Rose shoves Thorn and forced him to cross the road, Rose followed him shortly after. "Come, the hunting grounds is just through here." their father pointed his snout at clump of bushes. As they walked through the bushes a large field came into view, in the field lived what look to be hundreds of rabbits! Rose couldn't believe her eyes, she had never seen this many living things in the same place, occasionally a ribbit or two came close to the den, or sometimes a deer, but this was a lot of life jumping and running around this one field. "Alright, pups, to catch your prey you must be quiet and stay close to the ground," their father told them what to do and how to do it for the best chance at catching they prey. The first time Rose missed the rabbit when she leaped, but after that she was able to catch two little one's, and she watched her brother jumping up and falling into things.

By the end of the day, Rose had four rabbits and Thorn had three. They all trotted towards the road again. Rose went across the road, then it was Thorn's turn. Thorn was half way across the road, when one of the creatures with wheels and bright lights was running right for him, their father leaped to him and threw Thorn out of the road! Then he was hit by the creature.
