After spending the day with the queen, it was time to head back to the desert. That was until Eren spoke up.
"Hey, we'll catch up with you guys later, I want to show (y/n) somthing," he shouted.
Looking back, Levi eyed the boy before huffing, "there may not be anymore titan's on this island, but you never know. Don't get lost," with that, the captain led the group out towards the desert.
Looking to you, Eren's eyes slightly soften, "common, I know a place we can talk."
Leading his horse in the opposite way of the group, you followed behind, your cape and dress draped to the side of your horse. Traveling for a while, the sun began to set once more over the horizon. In front of you, was a field of rather large trees, ones you've only seen in books. Stopping at the edge, Eren dismounts his horse. Pulling on the ranes, your horse stop right next to his. Coming over, he puts his arms out as you slide right into them. Setting you down, he watches your head turn towards the sun.
"You still watch it set everyday, huh?" He questions.
You only nod before watching it disappear behind the hills.
"Eren, I know what your planning to do," you get straight to the point.
Looking down, his hands still on your waist, green eyes met your purple ones. They looked sad. Letting go, he steps forward, his back to you.
"I should have known, you really do know everything, huh?" he asks. "Your planning to stop me right here, aren't you?"
"No," quickly became your reply.
Surprised, he turns back towards your form. Your eyes almost glowed at night, making it easy to find you.
"No?" He repeats, "so your with me?"
"No," came again.
Confused, he walks up to you once again. This time, he towered over you intimidatingly. Standing your ground, you looked directly into his eyes.
"Then what?" He slightly growled before softening.
You feel his hands slowly meet the sides of your face.
Over the years you spent with the scouts, you were closet with Eren and Amrin due to them being titans. Though, you noticed how the titan boy himself treated you differently than the others. He would only show you how soft he could be and made sure to keep eye contact when he spoke. However, you spent most of your time either accompanying Captain Levi or Commander Hange. You saw how jealous he'd get towards Levi when he would talk to you privately or even when you were just near the captain. Without dening it, you knew this boy had some sort of crush on you.
Slowly, you watched his face get closer before stopping just over your lips. "(Y/n) I don't want you being apart of this... I don't want you getting hurt," he whispered. "I can protect you, come with me."
Looking away, you slightly look down at his arm's, "I can't..."
Surpessing whatever feelings you had, your hands found his. Gently, you removed them from your face and slightly glared at Eren.
"I'm not gonna stop you from doing this, but, if you do... I won't hesitate to come after you, we both know the future. But, we don't know the outcome," you whisper back.
"(Y/n)," he cooes in disappointment, "Please."
"Eren, is this the future you want?"
"This is the path I must to go, it's for the greater good," he pulls his head back slightly.
"The path you choose will determine your future... Our future," you finish.
"If your not with me, then your my enemie... Even if I do love you," he confessed.
You adverted your eyes once more before feeling a hand under your chin. He brought them back to his, continuing.
"Before I leave tonight and ruin everything, what are your true feelings?" He slightly pleads.
"Eren... I will do what I must, but, you'll always be special to me," you gave him a soft kiss on the cheek.
Pulling back, you whisper in his ear, "I'm sorry."
"I am too..." He whispers back before placing a piece of paper in your hand.
You knew exactly what it was as you watch him mount his horse.
"Goodbye, (f/n) (l/n)," with that, Eren took off.
Looking down, you clench the piece of paper between your fist. Suddenly, foot steps make their way from behind you. You knew exactly who they belonged to as you glared up in the direction Eren left in. A familiar hand found your exposed shoulder, making you look down at your captain. Sighing, you handed him the piece of paper before looking up at the night sky.
"Tsk," sounded before crumpling of paper came.
"He's an idiot," Levi stated.
Without realizing it, the captains hand found your cheek and wipped away a shed tear. Then, it started to rain as more fell from your face. You couldn't stop them from falling like the water droplets. Levi watched from the side at your emotionless face. Though, he knew that look all too well. It was the look of utter betrayal. Soaking wet, he embraced your body as it fell to the ground. You two shared a tight hug, in the rain caused by your emotions.
"Common, don't cry over a boy," he tried to joke.
Looking up, you got to witness his rare smirk. A slight chuckle left before you two stood up from the muddy ground.
"Let's head back before we catch a cold."
You nod in respone before mounting your horse.
"No, you'll fall asleep," Levi states over the rain.
He begins for tie your two horses together before mounting his. He Lookes back as you respond with a numbful nod. The two of you took off into the rain. When arriving in the desert, it had stopped raining due to your lack of consciousness. Levi stopped the horses next to the rest before hosting you off as well. He carried you to one of the closet camp fires and sat you in one of the new cadets laps. The cadet blushed and looked up at his captain.
"Make sure she's dried, and don't do anything funny or I'll chop off your hands," Levi threatened.
"Y-YES SIR!" The cadets saluted before he walked off.
"I'll be back in an hour to get her," he finished before walking off.
Note in hand, he gathered up the 104th cadets and brought them all into the commanders tent.
"Sir, what's this about? Where's Eren and (y/n)?" Armin questions before being handed the note. Horror shoots across the tent as they begin to shout and denie Eren's plan.
"That bastard!" Jean clenched his fist.
Handing the paper off to Mikasa, the blonde steps towards his captain.
"Where's (y/n)? Don't tell me she went with him..." Armin asks, quieting the room.
"No, she's by the fire drying off," A sigh of relief spreads.
"Eren... He went after Zeke after all," Hange states the obvious.
Levi had heard the whole conversation between the two titan's. His fist slightly clenches thinking how that bastard, in his words, made her cry. It also brought curiosity, he'd have to talk to her when she a woke. For now, they had just only four years to prepare for war. It was too little time for what their future held.
