Author's Note:

No.

That's all.

Genesis's POV:

I didn't want to hear it anymore. The entire reason that a conflict arose was because of me.

A tear found itself wandering down my face as I covered my ears in shame and walked out to the car.

Payton's POV:

"If you think this is a situation where I should just leave her to be fucking sexually harrassed, we have an issue," I said bluntly, " I don't know why you're suddenly acting like a bitch, but that's not the girl that I asked to be my girlfriend. I don't know if this is jealousy or what but it's not appropriate in this circumstance at all, Liz."

"You just don't seem to give a shit about me in this entire situation," She threw her hands up in frustration, " This happens all the fucking time at parties. If she's gonna go to them, she needs to get used to that!"

"I'm not going to watch her get violated!" I yelled.

"So now you're yelling at me," She pressed her lips into a line.

"You've been yelling at me the entire time, Elizabeth. Am I just supposed to sit here and calmly tell you how ridiculous you're being forever? Because no matter how calm I am, it's just always my fault with you," I retorted.

"Payton, it's not my fault that you brought a random girl along with us without telling me and now she's forcing us to leave."

"You know what Lizzie? Then maybe we don't have to leave. Find your own way home," I walked off.

Genesis's POV:

Chilled winds rushed past my ankles, pulling around crisp leaves as I held my back against the car door. My eyes were set on the door when it opened once again.

Payton walked out.

I hurriedly wiped the tears off my face as he approached me and pulled myself together to ask one question, "Where's Liz?"

"Elizabeth isn't coming with us," He said dryly.

"Oh.." I mumbled as he pulled out a small key and pressed a button on it. A click was heard from the car as he pulled the front door open.

I gently tugged the previously sealed shut handle and the door fell open. The button he had pressed must've unlocked the door in some way without using a normal key.

I sat down in the car and dragged the seatbelt across my torso before clicking it into its holder.

"So why isn't Lizzi-"

"She wanted to stay here, so she's staying here," He snapped.

I bit the inside of my cheek and slightly slumped in my seat.

"Sorry..." He said in a gentler tone, "None of this is your fault, okay?" He looked back at me reassuringly. I slowly nodded.

"It kinda is though," I murmured.

"It's not. I think he was drunk because Jackson's not like that, but that's no excuse for him to do that," He explained.

"But I feel bad. He wasn't hurting me. I could've just kept my mouth shut."

"Genesis, don't ever feel bad for not letting yourself get harassed. What Jackson did is wrong and, by no means, should you have to sit there and deal with that," He furrowed his eyebrows.

"But now you're fighting with your girlfriend and it's my fault," I gripped my upper arm tightly.

"No, it's her fault for not realizing how inconsiderate she's being. This was bound to happen anyways. She always acts like it's fine with her at first, but then she gets overly jealous over every little interaction. It's ridiculous," He grumbled.

"I'm still sorry...."

"Don't be," He said one more time before switching the car into reverse and maneuvering out of the driveway, "Also you could've sat in the front this time."

"Oh yeah, I forgot," I rubbed my arm.

🖤🖤🖤

I shivered as I sat lonely on the bed. Payton had left the room again without giving any explanation. I looked down at my hands and nervously shifted them around.

My anxious habits were interrupted by the door swinging open. I was greeted with Payton who appeared to be holding a blanket.

"You were shivering," He said as he tossed the blanket at me.

I caught it and wrapped it around me as he sat down.

"It's been almost a day, are you not tired?" He asked.

"Yeah I am but I was waiting for when it was nighttime here to go to sleep," I explained, "So that I could get used to the schedule."

"Smart," He laughed, "I don't usually go to bed until late, but if you're tired you can sleep now."

"No, I think I wanna be on the same schedule that you're on," I responded.

"My schedule isn't healthy," He laughed.

"Then I'll be unhealthy with you," I smiled.

He laughed lightly, "That's a bad idea, Gen."

"Gen?" I questioned.

"Oh uh..do you not want me to call you that?" He asked.

"No, I like it," I smiled, "I've never had a nickname before. Can I give you a nickname too?"

"Go for it," He leaned back on the bed and placed his palms under his head, his elbows almost forming triangles.

"Is Pay good?" I asked.

"Sure," He chuckled.

"So do you want me to sleep in the blanket fort?" He asked jokingly.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Well, I'm gonna let you have the bed, so should I sleep in the fort?" He repeated.

"Why are you letting me have the bed?" I furrowed my eyebrows.

"I don't know. It just feels like the nice thing to do," He shrugged.

"I can sleep on the floor. It's okay," I assured.

🖤🖤🖤

Payton's POV:

"Yeah and then I-" I stopped the story I was telling when I felt Genesis fall delicately into my side. We were laying on my bed and just telling different stories about our lives when apparently she had fallen asleep.

I slowly sat up, so that I wouldn't wake her and climbed out of the bed. I walked over to my computer and threw on my headphones

"Time to write some music then," I mumbled to myself.
