It was already clear of the match's outcome; a big, painful loss for the pitiful survivors and an accomplishment for the menacing hunter whom was referred to as "The Violinist". However, the match of this endless killing game was still ongoing, with only a timid little mouse of a man to either escape via the hatch, or suffer the fates of his teammates.A shrilling scream cracked through the heavy silence, sending shivers down his spine as Andrew frantically dug through a red chest with warm tears rolling down his pale cheeks. His teammate's bloodcurdling shriek struck his heart like an arrow, as if he was responsible for the tragic demise. He was deemed as the rescuer of the team after all, and he was expected to protect and sacrifice his life for their team's safety and well-being. Those things, he had failed to do so during the match.
Yet, Andrew did not have time to weep, he needed to escape before the corrupted crows find and surround him.
Between the webs and filthy remains of pests in the chest was a first aid kit. Andrew heaved a sigh relief, opening the kit and searching for painkillers in order to walk with ease. One of the Violinist's deadly strings had struck him on his knees with a deep cut, leaving the man to limp and whimper in pain as the match escalated. He hoped that the painkillers would at least allow him to walk normally without feeling pain and swallowed a few pills, then swiftly bandaging his wounds.
Upon patching up, Andrew caught a glimpse of a crow glaring at him with those beady crimson eyes. Andrew took a deep breath, clinging onto false hope as he clutched onto a rugby ball. The rugby ball belonged to another rescuer, William Ellis. It was believed that running with the ball held in one's arms would grant super speed, as the mastermind behind the game had altered some things in reality.
However, most things come with a disadvantage; If the user of the ball were to bump into an object, they would be stunned, leaving them vulnerable to the hunter's attacks. It wouldn't be the same case for William as he could tackle the hunter with ease, leaving them distracted in order for the victim to escape the hunter's pursuit.
Andrew tip-toed closer the hatch, hearing a poignant melody the Violinist was playing on his violin. He needed to be careful with his steps for his next move, otherwise he will immediately be incapacitated. His hands began to tremble and he tightly embraced the rugby ball in his arms, murmuring a prayer to his lord before he braced himself for a running start.
