Ethelind is a very private person. Over the past two weeks, I have watched over her and learned various lessons from her. She enjoys her job, you can tell as much by the way she rambles on and on about the flora and fauna mutations and how amazed she is with the environments adaptations to the pollution. As a scientist, these changes fascinate her the most, because she is a most curious creature.

Since I am beginning to understand what exactly it is that Ethelind does, I have been gaining, even more, uses and jobs to do. I think this has helped her because she has been smiling a lot more lately. And she has been sleeping longer hours at night. Ethelind says that since I've been helping her, she has gotten closer and closer to a breakthrough with her latest project. I cannot comprehend just what it is I might have done, but if it makes her happy, then I am glad I have helped in some way.

A week ago was the first time I met Solon Conrad. Ethelind's on again off again boyfriend. She admitted that he was the one who had convinced her to purchase an FGAE1. Though my gut had bottomed out hearing that, part of me had been thankful to him. He was the reason I had gained such an amazing mistress.

More and more lately, I have been feeling strange things. Unexplainable things. Wants and needs and emotions. But all along I have been sure to keep it to myself. I worry that should Ethelind find out, she may think I am malfunctioning and send me back to the factory where I had been made. The thought of another automaton serving her, has me wanting to break something in half. So I will remain quiet, unaffected and callous.

How hard can it be?

I move around the kitchen, gathering ingredients and spices. Solon will be coming over for the night, so I have to prepare food for the two of them. Ethelind had asked me to make something simple and mild, something to go well with a glass of wine. Ever since she found out Solon would be coming over she's been acting strange.

She's been in the bathroom for two hours, give or take. The clothes she has set on the bed are peculiar as well. The undergarments are black, lacey and small, the dress is blood red with a low front and back while the length is mid-thigh. Or so I have estimated.

I return my focus to the food, trying to distract my thoughts from Ethelind. I will need to get some more ingredients, as my mistresses cooling unit is emptying at an alarming rate. Just last night she had eaten half a tub of frozen yoghurt and a whole bar of manuba. Her sweet tooth is unquenchable.

Without realising it, I'm smiling.

"I didn't realise automatons could smile." Ethelind's voice comes from the direction of the breakfast bar.

I raise my head and watch her swing her legs as she sits on the counter. My eyes trail up her muscular calves, strong thighs and up her flat stomach towards her ample chest. Once more, there's a stirring of an unknown emotion inside of me that I have to push down to ensure my secret stays just that, a secret.

"If it pleases you, I will do it more often. We can adapt to the wishes of our masters, as smiling and frowning are two of many features programmed into our core, we can do these as well. If it pleases you of course."

"It pleases me. You look even more charming when you smile." Her eyes are bright, twinkling even. "How far along is dinner now?"

My eyes and hands refocus on the food. "It will be done in five minutes."

"Great. Solon should be here at any moment now." She glances at her watch then hops down from the counter. The red dress she has on pulls higher up her thighs, revealing the lacey material of her panties. Before I can get a better look at her, she adjusts her dress and skips to her bedroom.
