( May '98 )
Merely hours after Voldemort had been killed, Cassandra stood at the podium where Dumbledore once stood. Hogwarts had been fixed and everyone was ordered to stay for a couple of reasons. Cassandra had gathered everyone into the Great Hall and she was prepared to give a speech.
"First of all, I'd like to start my speech off by saying how brave you all are." Cassandra said. "Each of you helped in some sort of way, whether that be directly fighting back or protecting those who could not fight. That takes a great amount of bravery. You are all here for one reason: you have a magical talent. Don't expect your part in this war to deter you from coming back to Hogwarts next year. None of you are truly evil and deserve a second chance. If you do have any information about death eaters that have escaped please let Jack Dawson know. May we honor those who lost their lives today and take a moment of silence."
Everyone bowed their heads down and took a great moment of silence.
"Alright, now we shall celebrate this win and dine!" Cassandra exclaimed.
She hopped off the pedestal and gave Sirius a hug. Brooklyn was right behind him and embraced Cassandra in a hug as well.
"I couldn't be more proud of you." Brooklyn smiled. "I do have a little bit of happiness to share with you. You are going to have a cousin!"
"You're pregnant?" Cassandra screamed and engulfed Brooklyn in another hug. "Congratulations Aunt Brooklyn."
"Please do not call me aunt." Brooklyn said. "I hate that. Just call me Brooklyn or Brooke."
"Will do." Cassandra smiled.
Cassandra started walking away from her aunt when she spotted Jack.
"Hello, Cassie." Jack greeted. "I am very proud of you and I just know Remus is as well."
"Thank you." Cassandra said. "I didn't see you during the battle at all. Where were you?"
"Bellatrix actually put a spell on me where I wouldn't wake up for eight hours." Jack said. "Slept right through the whole thing."
"I'm just glad that you're still here." Cassandra said.
"Well I think your friends want to talk to you." Jack pointed.
Ron, Hermione, Harry and Ginny were standing behind Cassandra.
"Oh goodness!" Cassandra said. "I'm going to be fifth-wheeling now."
"No you won't." Hermione said. "Not if you confess your feelings for someone. He's sitting there all alone. You need to talk to him. You should've seen the way he cried when Voldemort said you were dead."
"We came over to you to offer a little bit of encouragement to go confess your feelings." Ginny said. "We don't need to say anything else besides a couple words of encouragement."
"Everyone is staying the night, upon request by McGonagall." Harry explained. "So once we're done eating, we're heading back to our dorms."
Harry winked.
"Ugh gross!" Cassandra exclaimed. "I did not need to know that."
"Yeah so you might not want to come back to yours and Hermione's dorm tonight." Ron said. "That's why you need to confess your feelings to a certain someone."
"I guess I'll find somewhere else to sleep then." Cassandra said, standing there awkwardly.
"Seriously though, you should really confess your feelings for him or at least talk to him." Hermione said. "We'll be sitting at the Gryffindor table when you decide to come join us."
The two couples walked away leaving Cassandra wondering. She turned to face wherever Draco was. She saw him sitting at the table already looking at her. She made her way over to him and sat down next to him.
"I told you that I'd win this war for you, didn't I?" Cassandra asked.
"You did indeed." Draco replied. "Do you still think I'm a monster?"
"No." Cassandra said. "I never did. I knew that one day you would stand up for what you believe in. And today you did exactly that. I saw you out there, rounding up the death eaters. That took guts."
"Thank you." Draco said. "For believing in me."
"Do you have an extra bed in your dorm?" Cassandra asked, awkwardly. "I need somewhere to sleep tonight."
Cassandra nudged her head towards Hermione and Ron.
"Ohh." Draco said. "I understand. Yeah, I should uh, have a bed. But if I don't, you can always sleep in mine and I'll take the floor this time."
"Oh yes, back to the Umbridge days." Cassandra smiled.
The two awkwardly sat there a while before Draco said something.
"Can I ask you something?" Draco asked.
"Always, what's up?" Cassandra asked.
"That night, in our dorm room when I asked you if you had feelings for me, did you lie to me?" Draco asked. "Did you lie to me when you said you had no feelings for me?"
"No." Cassandra replied, a little too quickly.
"If you don't have feelings for me, then why are you here?" Draco asked. "Why are you here sitting next to me? After you and your friends were talking about me?"
"How do you know we were talking about you?" Cassandra asked.
"It was obvious." Draco chuckled. "You were looking right at me while talking."
Draco took Cassandra's hands in his.
"I love you." Draco said. "I was too scared to tell you before but I love you."
"Oh god, I was hoping you'd say that." Cassandra said.
Cassandra's lips crashed against Draco's. She felt like her whole body was on fire. She had never touched his lips before but somehow knew them like the back of her hand.
"I love you too, Draco Lucius Malfoy."
