IT WAS HALLOWEEN NIGHT, 1995.

And just outside of Milwaukee, the streets were nearly empty.

Because the town of Grant had one daycare, and one high school.

Younger students had to travel outside of town each morning just to get an education, and our high school consisted of 300 students.

Grant High School was built in 1949, some say it was constructed on top of an old cemetery but that's just a rumor.

Half of our classrooms are closed off due to mold growths, we lack a variety of extracurriculars due to low funding, and I'm pretty sure that most of teachers didn't pay attention in college.

The night of October 31st had changed the lives of my small group of friends and I.

I would say it also changed the life of the most popular girl at my school, Brandi Hill, but she didn't make it.

In our rundown town, we had five churches.

But just three that were still in use, the other two had been abandoned.

The Cathedral of St. Cecilia was built on the grounds of Grant in the mid-1800's, just around the time of the Civil War.

However, it became abandoned in 1901 after an undisclosed incident had occurred within its walls; the details still remain a mystery to the townspeople.

Halloween night, we set out to explore the abandoned cathedral we'd grown up next to.

It was intended to be a learning experience, to hopefully uncover its mysteries.

It was four of my friends and I.

But upon arrival, we met a few other people as well including the most popular girl in our high school.

The night was eerie, a bad feeling lingered behind us the entire time.

But then things started to escalate, because we knew we weren't alone in that cathedral.

Something or someone had been watching us, and they certainly weren't happy.
