The Glacier Mountain Giant
They had heard stories, they had been warned repeatedly, and they had never once listened. The story of the frosty terror that lived in the glacier mountains near the town of Sentin was a common one told by the residents at every sunday potluck since the start of time. But of course, no one believed the story. I mean there’s no way a giant snowman with big pointy teeth and raiser-like claws really lived in the mountains near Noah's hometown right?
Well that's just what he and five of his friends, wanted to prove. That there was no reason to be afraid of going for a stroll in the woods. No reason to be afraid of being hunted by this so-called monster. So one night he and his friends went out into the woods with lanterns and flamethrowers ready to prove this so-called myth wrong.
But what they didn't know was that that night one of them would lose their lives to this giganteus monster. So as they walked through the woods filled with confidence and maybe just an ounce of fear, they looked through the trees, making sure to keep a keen eye on anything that looked threatening they would never have expected the beast to come behind them and snatch up the smallest of them named jack and throw him into a tree, causing him to shout out and groan as he hit the large gnarled tree.
As the rest of the group turned around to see what all the commotion was about, they came face to face with a sixteen foot beastly looking snowman, with five inch long sharp teeth, ten inch long nails as sharp as the edge of a sword, and big red beady eyes. Some screamed in fright and ran, but two of them stayed to fight the beast. Noah.. and Mathew.
Noah armed with a flamethrower, started yelling at the beast, and aimed fire at the giant effectively making it fall back a couple feet. Mathew however did not have the luxury of having a weapon and was forced to dodge and run back and forth whilst the creature tried to grab at him with its large nails.
At this point Jack who had been thrown against a tree earlier had recovered and came to join the fight. With a large branch he beat at the monster left and right, but unfortunately doing no good as the creature picked him up and threw him once more into a large sharp log sticking through the ground, impaling him, and leaving him dead.
This was the one thing that forever broke Noah. Not being almost eaten by this creature. Not the fact that he was fighting for his life. No. This one moment seeing his friend, impaled through the chest, dead, all because of this one creature, that, that, broke him.
He wanted to end this, he wanted to end this before anyone else he cared about died. He picked up a long, thick, sharp, spear-like, stick, and climbed the closest tree he could find. Finally he reached the top. Right as the giant snowman swatted Matthew to the side, he jumped, he jumped from the tree and came down on the monster's head, driving the stick through its skull, before jumping off.
The creature retreated quickly whilst letting out a demonic screech from the sheering pain in the top of its head. Noah ran to Matthew, and slowly, with his lungs heaving from exhaustion, he carried Matthew back to his house in Sentin, never to talk of that day again.
