Chapter 24:
"Hey," I said softly as I entered the hospital wing.
"Hey," Draco replied, his voice still slightly raspy from all the potions he had to take.
"How do you feel?" I ask sitting down, removing my sweater as Madam Pomfrey gets me new bandages for my shoulder.
"I'm doing fine now. Pomfrey said I could leave for dinner, I just have to take these potions before I go to sleep tonight," He says, gesturing towards the tray beside him.
"I'm sorry."
"Why are you apologizing? It's not like you did it,"
"But it's my fault," I reply.
"Tess it's not your-"
"No, it is. Harris did it. And he's not going to stop bothering me, which I could care less about but this is affecting you now and I'm not okay with that. He's never going to stop. That's that. He's clearly annoyed about me and Diggory being friends and Diggory isn't doing anything to stop him. The answer is obvious. I'm not going to talk to him anymore, hopefully Harris will leave us alone after that."
"Tessa you don't have to stop talking to Diggory just because Harris doesn't like your guys friendship. You shouldn't let people walk over you like that," Draco argues.
"It's not just Harris. This has been going on for a long time, if Diggory actually cared and wanted to be my friend he would've told Harris to stop. But he didn't, and I'm not going to waste my time." Draco sighs at my response.
"I was really hoping he would work out. You know I don't like you hanging out with those other twats," Draco spits.
"They're actually miles better than Diggory, plus I hang out with Cho Chang too so don't worry. Anyways I was thinking we could skip dinner. I can ask Winny to bring us up some food and we can eat in my dorm. We have to pack too, don't forget."
"Who's Winny?" Draco asks, sitting up.
"House elf that works here. She gave me dinner on my first night." Madam Pomfrey finishes wrapping up my shoulder and dismisses us, reminding Draco to take his potions. We head up to our dorms in a peaceful silence, avoiding the stares of our peers.
I had already bought presents for each of my friends. I got Harry a broom care kit, Hermione some hair products for her curls, and Ron some sweets from Honeydukes. Despite the fact I was not going to talk to Cedric anymore, I still haven't verbally told him yet. So I had gotten him a copy of "A Midsummer Night's Dream", although I didn't sign my name. I simply left a note saying "This one has a happy ending, I hope you like it" and just prayed he knew it was from me. I couldn't risk the idea of Ben finding out I sent him a present. Of course I had bought Draco some items as well. I bought him a ring set because I knew he was obsessed with rings recently and also bought this cologne he had been wanting. I had packaged these and had them to be sent out the day of Christmas. I finished packing my trunk and headed to the train with Draco to go home.
I was actually excited to be back home. I finally got to spend time with my mother. Of course I hadn't told my parents about my third year Gryffindor friends, I just lied and said I hung out with Draco's lot and they believed me. Christmas came around a lot faster than I expected. I wasn't going to lie, I was spoiled rotten by my parents. They had bought me endless amounts of clothes and books for me to use when I came back for summer. Draco had got me a silver snake bracelet which I loved. Hermione and Ron paired together and had gotten me new quidditch gloves (which they had addressed to be from "Hermy and Rob" in an attempt to conceal their identity from my parents). I couldn't help but feel guilty as I stared down at the package of books Cedric had sent me. I felt bad accepting a present from him, knowing I'd have to ignore him later. My favorite gift by far was the one Harry, or "Harley", had sent. He had gifted me a gold necklace with angel wings as the pendant. I smiled to myself, knowing he had remembered such a minor detail.
While Draco went off to talk to my father about Merlin knows what, I had spent the last day of break with my mother. We chatted about how school was going for me as she did my hair, something I missed. I lied saying that school was great and I liked hanging out with Draco's friends, purposely avoiding the topic of Cedric, the trio, Ben Harris, practically my entire school experience. Draco had also kept his mouth shut on my behalf, knowing it would upset me if he had told my parents the truth. Before I knew it, the break had come to an end and I had to go back to school.
a/n: I don't rly like this chapter jus bc i dont rly know how to write descriptive paragraphs like this, Im more of a dialogue kind of person. Im rly excited for next chapter tho because stuff HAPPENS and Im hoping to include more Tessa x Cho moments in there too bc I love them as friends. Also I felt the need to explain Harry's gift if it wasnt clear already. Basically in the last chapter when Tessa confesses to Harry about the real reason she goes to azkaban, she mentions how her and Draco were charming snowflakes in Diagon Alley. If you paid close attention to the flashback you might remember her charming the snowflakes to make a halo over her head, this is why Harry got her the angel wings. Anyways I hope you guys enjoyed, please remember to comment and vote!
