You were my world once...

The moonlight softly covers the Earth

He couldn't explain this feeling, whenever he saw him, his heart would start to beat faster, he would start sweating profusely and he couldn't mantain eye contact.

You held me close as we watched the sky

When Yamaguchi met Tsukishima, he felt so happy for some odd reason, sure he saved him from a bunch of bullies  but besides from that, Yamaguchi couldn't stop thinking about the boy.

You told me it was friendship and nothing more

Tsukishima was a very harsh and salty guy, but Yamaguchi could easily see through all of that. Yamaguchi could see that Kei was actually very kind inside, Yamaguchi knew that Kei sometimes regreted the things he said.

I agreed like a fool while I felt my heart sink deeper into the abyss

It wasn't too late before Yamaguchi had finally realized that he fell in love with his best friend. Now, Yamaguchi knew that this wouldn't be easy for him to handle, he never knew how to deal with a crush directed towards a best friend, let alone one who is his polar opposite.

I tried to make my pain a bit more obvious, but you never noticed

Tsukishima had noticed the weird behaviour Yamaguchi was starting to have, but he brushed it off, thinking completely nothing of it.

You never noticed how much I had fallen for you

Yamaguchi had asked multiple of his friends for some advice, they all said the same thing though, 'Be yourself and tell him how you feel'. Yeah, since when did that work out for anyone?

I wanted to tell you, but I never had the guts

Yamaguchi immediately panicked once Tsukishima met Kuroo Tetsurou.

I wanted to hold you but I never had the confidence

Kuroo was handsome, humorous, good at volleyball and he was also smart. Yamaguchi knew that he couldn't compete.

I wanted to call you mine but I knew you'd leave me if I did

But Yamaguchi was surprised when Tsukishima hadn't even made any type of romantic-ish moves on Kuroo throughout the entire camp.

I was a fool to think you'd be different from the rest

Yamaguchi had started to tell Kageyama about his crush on Tsukishima, Kageyama looked normal on the outside but on the inside he was so jealous.

I wanted you to love me so softly, but you slowly started to push me away

Yamaguchi finally knew what he had to do, express his feelings for Tsukishima before it was too late.

Why did you push me away?

So everyday Yamaguchi wrote his letter to Tsukishima, while it be improvising, adding or fixing errors he had done.

Was it something I said?

Everyday he asked his teammates for advice and they'd happily give him advice, which he took account for.

Was it something I did?

Yamaguchi had finally finished his letter and was currently giving himself a pep talk, "You can do this, Tadashi. You will walk up to him, give him the letter and pray that he accepts it."

Please tell me

"What if he's not even into guys? God, I'm such a stupid mess!", Yamaguchi groaned but quickly slapped both of his hands onto his face.

Tell me so I can fix what was broken

"Bring it together, Tadashi. If he's not into guys, he'll decline in the most  polite way and you'd still be friends, right? Right!"

Tell me so I can find what has been lost

"Okay. Walk up to him, hand him the letter, confess, and wait for his response... That's easy enough!", Yamaguchi smiled and looked at himself in the mirror, he nodded and walked out of the bathroom.

Tell me so I can rebuild our crumbling connections

Yamaguchi was looking everywhere for Tsukishima, he started looking outside hoping that he was somewhere outside.

Yamaguchi caught a glimpse of familiar blonde hair, but before he could walk over to his friend, he saw a girl with him.

She was fiddling with her fingers and looking down as Tsukishima read her letter.

Yamaguchi was just hoping that Tsukishima would decline, his heart was pounding so fast he was afraid it would pop out at any given second.

Tsukishima looked up from the girl's letter.

He started to get closer to her.

And finally... He caught her lips. Yamaguchi dropped his letter and covered his mouth, tears were falling from his eyes as he slowly backed away before running away sobbing.

"Yamaguchi?!", he heard Tsukishima yell, but right now he didn't even want to make any eye contact.

My heart has sunked so deep

He couldn't stop running, and he never intended to stop.

That was until he ran into Kageyama's chest and stumbled backwards but Kageyama gripped his arms before he could fall, "Yamaguchi, are you okay? "

I was too late to express myself

Yamaguchi whimpered and shook his head before wrapping his arms around Kageyama.

At least you're happy

"I WAS LATE, I WAS TOO LATE", Kageyama's eyes widened as Yamaguchi sobbed into his chest.

But before we part ways

Kageyama wrapped his arms around Yamaguchi and rubbed his back as Yamaguchi sobbed violently.

I just wanted you to know that

"It's alright, I'm here. It's not your fault.", Yamaguchi kept sobbing. The image of Tsukishima smiling at the girl was replaying in his mind, 'I couldn't have ever made him that happy... I never made him smile that much...', Yamaguchi held tightly onto Kageyama as he sobbed, "I got you, Yamaguchi..."

You were my world once and I would've given everything to make you happy....
