The Gossip Train

Eva and Chris always harmlessly flirted with each other. It made the days that they lost a life a little easier. Their flirting however didn't go unnoticed. It wasn't until Eva gave Chris a lift to work one day did people start to think it might be something more than just flirting. Eva and Chris decided to take advantage of this. They decided it was time to mess with the other nurses and doctors that work at the trauma wing.

"Would you like to out for drinks after work Chris?'

"Sure Eva. It could be fun."

By the end of the day everyone knew they were going out for drinks. So it came to no surprise to either Eva or Chris that other people just happened to be at the bar that night as well. Eva and Chris were taking shots and drinking beer. As it approached 11pm they were 'drunk' and decided to get a cab back home. To keep the illusion that they were more than friends that flirted they shared a cab. It was so late that Chris insisted that she crashed at his. The next day both Chris and Eva over slept which only added to the now becoming quite real illusion. Eva had to show at Chris's and wear the same clothes next day to work. When they arrived at the hospital for work everyone noticed that they arrived together and that Eva was in the same clothes as yesterday.

"Thanks for last night Chris I really needed to relax. Also your shower pressure is really bad."

"That's alright about last night and I can't do anything about the shower pressure."

Everyone heard the comment about the shower pressure which made the gossip run wild about what would have caused her to use his shower this morning.

Later that day. "Hey can you hold that." Eva yelled at Chris who was in the elevator. Eva just managed to get thought the door.

"Hey Eva you should mess up your hair a bit so it looks like we took the opportunity to kiss."

"Okay I will only if you make it look like I have been pulling at your shirt, But we need to straighten this stuff up as we walk out so it at least looks like we are trying to hide it."

"Deal." So as the elevator doors open Eva starts flattening her hair and Chris straightens his shirt. These actions don't go unnoticed by the person waiting to go into the elevator.

That day had, had a rough ending to it. One of their patients had died, but what hit them the hardest was the fact that the patient had been a kid and they could do nothing about it. Chris decided it would be best for Eva if he gave her a ride home and she stay at his again.This time was different though. When they got to his home. he got out some alcohol and they drunk a lot. Then one thing lead to another and hen before the new it they were in bed together.

When they woke up in the morning they awoke with a big shock.

"Did we do what I think we did last night because if we did we need to talk about it." Eva said in a slightly alerted tone.

"I think we did. But we weren't even that drunk." Eva didn't say anything in return.

"Eva, please say something."

"Well we either need to be a proper couple or pretend this didn't happen and go back to before we were tricking everyone into thinking we were a couple."

" Well I think I have a better idea."

"And what would that be exactly."

"We act like we split but decided to be friends cause it's easier for everyone and go out in secret."

"So what you're suggesting is that we reverse what we have been doing. Try and convince everyone that we moved on from the fling we had but still carry on being a couple in secret."

"Yep."

So when they arrived to work that day by separate means of transport everyone noticed. They decided to address everyone.

"Okay so we know everyone suspected we had a thing going on for a couple of days but I am telling you all now and setting the gossip train to stop. We went out for drinks and we were a bit drunk so Eva crashed at mine. The next day we thought we would mess with you. That's all that happened."

And for a while everyone brought that they were back to just their normal selves with their flirting and there was nothing else going on. But that was until 3 weeks later ....

"Is anyone coming Chris?" Eva asked in a whisper.

"No Eva there isn't. And why would you need to know such a thing?" Chris asked her in his serious flirty voice.

"Because I want to do this." She plants her lips on to his. While they were kissing someone walked past. At first she thought her eyes had tricked her but when she back tracked to confirm it and what she thought she saw she actually did see, she decided to take a picture. She then walked around the corner to decide what to do with the picture. She eventually decided to send a copy of they picture to both Chris and Eva.

Chris then messaged Eva asking if she could meet him in the break room.

"What should be do and say to Tracy about this picture and about her knowing about us." Just as Eva finished her sentence in walks Tracy herself.

"Hey Tracy we need to talk to you." Chris said in his serious voice.

"Yeah I think you do." "So how long have you 2 ya no been together."

"Well you know 3 weeks ago when Chris and I said we weren't in a relationship at all well...."

"Wait you actually had been in a relationship but you wanted to keep it a secret so you made up that story."

"No. We hadn't been in a relationship during that time we pretended to be in one but the reason we made that announcement was so we could be in a relationship and no one know about it. Also me and Eva would really appreciate it if you didn't tell anyone about us just yet."

"Well that could be a problem,"

"What do you mean that could be a problem." Chris and Eva said in unison.

"Well when I sent you the picture I also sent it to everyone in the trauma wing."

"You can go now Tracy me and Eva need to talk."

"Sure you do." Once Tracy left the room they started talking.

"So what are we going to do about everyone knowing we kissed Eva and now probably also that we have been secretly dating for the past 3 weeks?"

"Well we suck it up that it came out sooner than we wanted it to but at least we don't have to hide it anymore." Chris then realized that it meant they could go for dates in public, they can hold hands and they could kiss in public a well.

When they left the break room everyone was looking at them. This then confirmed to Eva and Chris what they had suspected. Tracy had told everyone that it wasn't just a one off kiss that they actually are dating. Chris took advantage of everyone knowing. He turned Eva around so she was facing him and he gave her the most passinate kiss he could muster. It was fulled with all the love he had been holding back in fear of them being caught. Everyone just stared in awe then started clapping because they know that this was what Chris wanted all along. Chris had finally won the girl. Now no one had anything to fuel the gossip train.
