We were unknown.
We were nobodies.
We decided to change our lives.
There were 3 of us: Hanna, Allee and me.
Here is our story.
We were just normal girls and we decided to show people who we really were, to show them what we could do. So we got together and we started practicing. At first we just did covers of songs. We did the whole Bowling for Soup, a Hangover You Don't Deserve album.
When we got good we started doing small gigs in downtown Columbus. That's when it all happened.
"You girls are good! How would you guys like to get a record deal?" Said a record producer.
"We would love that!!" We yelled. Our producer got us a songwriter so we could start singing us our own songs. We went crazy as we started recording. Sadly no one knew the faces of Flash Insanity. They did however know our music. Everywhere you went you heard our music blaring out of headphones, boom boxes, and even speakers in town. It was almost Christmas break and we decided to go out with a bang.
We asked our school principal during the last week if school before break if we could remind people to go see us, even though they wouldn't know it was us, not yet.
So during the last 4 days we would say this. "Hey hey hey! It's Flash Insanity here! Make sure you come see us in downtown Columbus on Friday the 21 starting at 7:00 pm! We are gonna be playing at our very first Insane Asylum! Come see us!!"
Everyone went crazy. They knew Flash Insanity went to their school. They wanted to know who we were so that made everyone come. It was free too! What could be a better deal?
So Friday came around and it was the last day of school and the teachers played our music during lunch periods, as a treat to the kids going crazy for tonight.
We were going to have an Insane Flash Mob. Meaning the stage we were playing on was just a stage and we were just going to go up and play. We started getting stuff ready at 4 because people really wanted to get in. They saw the instruments and everyone was going crazy. When 7:00 came around everyone shut up and they waited.
7:05.....
7:10.....
7:15.....
BAM!!! We were playing our songs!
There was yelling, screaming, and best of all, people screaming the lyrics. We were famous and people loved us. We look into the crowd and we see the entire football team, the entire track team, the entire boys basketball team and the boys we want to show up. The boys we wanted to prove wrong.
We would rock out and flirt. Hanna slamming on her guitar, Allee pounding the drums and me rocking the bass and singing my heart out.
We were going to make it happen.
We were going to be famous.
We were going to prove people wrong.
When we had finished our record producer came up and asked us if there was anyone we would like to thank.
"I would like to thank Jake for always believing in me!" Hanna said.
"I want to than my older sister and my band mates for encouraging me to get up here." Allee said.
"I would like my older sister as well for telling me to go after my dreams and here I am...I know we all would like to thank one person in the crowd, in fact I see her right now. We all want to thank her because she didn't believe in us. If she didn't believe in us we wouldn't be up here to prove her wrong, so thank you for making us prove you wrong.
That's how we became famous.
