A brunette was walking towards her school with her head down, hoping no one would notice her. She couldn't stop the blush that was forming on her cheeks as she remembered what happened during summer.
As always, she looked down.
Why hasn't she learned from her mistakes?
Once again, she bumps into someone.
She jumps back out of instinct, because she was afraid of getting screamed at by one of the mean girls that had always bullied her. . . . not that she wasn't used to it.
“Gomen!” she said, a little louder than she wanted.
When she didn't hear a response, she looked up. . . and sees a pole in front of her.
What a great way to start her wonderful day.
Her face turned red as a tomato.
Oh,how embarrassing!!! she thought, I hope no one saw me!It was then she heard a deep chuckle from behind her.
"You are so adorable. . ." the deep voice said.
She turned around, and saw the same boy she met that day.
"I-it's y-you. . ." she said as she pointed a finger at him.
"Yes, ms. Yoshioka, it is me." he said with a smug smile.
"H-how'd you find me?!" she managed to stutter out after a moment of silence.
She was starting to get freaked out by this man. . . boy. . . whatever he is!
"Do I need to remind to you the fact that we're about one door away from each other?" he said confidently as cocked his head to the side.
She glared at him.
How dare he make a fool out of me! she thought to herself.
"Futaba I wasn't trying to make you look like an idiot, if that's what you're thinking." he said.
"Th-that wasn't what I was thinking!" she defended herself.
"Sure it wasn't. . ."After staring/glaring at each other for a few seconds, he turned his heel and walked to school as he said 'bye' to her.
That's it? she thought.
'Well if you wanted a kiss on the cheek, then why didn't you just say so?' a voice in her head said.
It's not that. . . it's just. . . ugh, I don't know. . .She shook away her thoughts and just went straight to school.
As she walked through the halls, she heard snippets of whispers from different conversation.
“Did you see that new guy —”
“He looks so gorgeous —”
“Handsome —”
“From a rich family —”
“We look good together!”
Okay, that last snippet of a conversation was weird and creepy, and made Futaba roll her eyes at how desperate girls are these days.
This is a school, she thought, not a red carpet for celebrities that get surrounded by papparazzis and gossip girls that can't seem to get their own lives.
She was annoyed, and either it was because she thought every other girl was a desperate idiot that's living in a non-existent fairytale. . . or she was jealous that girls that saw him only today already knew so much more about him than she did, and she didn't even know he was her own neighbor!
It was weird. She never really cared for guys and always just focused on her studies like her parents wanted her to, but when this guy suddenly came to the picture, she started to question herself about what she really wanted in her life.
She walked into her first class; math, A.K.A. Mental Abuse To Humans.
She groaned as she went to her chair, not noticing the figure that was sleeping on the chair behind her seat.
She decides to just draw on her notebook; she doesn't realize that she was drawing her neighbor that she still doesn't know the name of.
She draws and draws, not minding whatever it was that she was drawing. While she does, the nameless boy suddenly looks up, instantly recognizes her hair, and decides to quietly peek at what she was drawing.
It was him. She was drawing him,and she didn't even realize it.
