My own interpretation:
the song is about an break up, the 'I' in the song wants to say goodbye to everything they had together and everything that was lost. He said that they weren't enough, possibly implying that they couldn't stand problems together as an couple enough? they also don't talk anymore wich may originate from an possible bad break up. he said that as soon as the light Turns, Maybe means as soon as everything good is gone or has turned a bad memory the cold time will arise. which could possibly mean a time where he feels alone, cold, in need of warmth given by others and also endless pain from the coldness surrounding him, which was left by the relationship.
He then proceeds to talk about their relationship in which they went through storms ,which could possibly means trouble like jealous and other fighting worthy themes. He sais that they often went through the dark implying that they had a lot of bad moments or didn't think of tomorrow and instead lived in the now. they often followed their hearts implies that they would take action emotionally instead of maybe thinking it through. that could result in them not taking understandable actions and conclusions.
this may have led them to falling ,wich means fighting, or being sad in the relationship. this led them to slowly fall apart, from each other. that means starting to think that it would be better without the other. and these thoughts do hurt, as to why they would fall into dark. the dark representing the unreachable place for the 'I' or 'her/Him/Them'.
slowly falling apart also implying that it was a long painful process .
the cold times arise would as mention represent the time after the bad break up where he 'I' would have to get better and also endure the current cold time which may seem endlessly cold and lonely.
I do not any of this, I am just introducing the songs I like. I am not getting promoted to this , I just felt the need to share these songs with you because I think it's a shame that some of these do not get the recognition they should.
