I chose Marfa, TX for the setting of this story as it is a remote Texan town, far from even the closest city, Chihuahua, Mexico. In this story, Senko lives on a ranch with her sister, Shiro, only 5 miles south of Marfa. Also, Kuroto, a Texan police officer, and his wife, Sora are their neighbors, living only about a mile further south.
