Joel - bad dream

Joel's POV:
Time for bed. Finally. After a long day at work I finally get to sleep. Y/n and I headed to bed snuggling up to one another. "Sleep tight love." I said to her as she snuggled into my chest. "Goodnight Joel." She mumbled before drifting off into her sleep. I followed shortly after.

*dream*

The sound of rustling came from behind. My heart began to race as I walked faster. I turned my head for a second noticing someone behind me so I began to run. Soon noticing that they were doing the same. I was being chased. I ran for ages and ages.

I turned the corner and looked back seeing that they weren't there behind me. Confusing. I turned around seeing the person with y/n in their arms. I screamed but nothing came out. They had her. "Y/N NOOOO!" I screamed and that was the last time I saw her.

*end of dream*

I gasped for air feeling around the bed when my hand touched y/n making sure she was still there. Thankfully she was.

Your POV:
A hand touched me making me wake up. I turned the bedside lamp on, looking at the time which read, 3:15am then turning to see Joel sat up all sweaty. "Joel?" I said softly as he looked at me with tears in his eyes. I pulled him close to me. "Shh, it's just a bad dream. Just a dream ok? None of it is real." I said as I held him close to my chest.

Joel's breathing slowly came down. My hands played with a the hairs at the bottom of his neck. "Want to talk about it?" I asked softly. Joel sighed. "I was being chased by some random person. They were probably a little crazy or something but I ran and ran but they didn't stop. I turned the corner and saw that they were gone. I was so confused. Then I turned around seeing them standing there with you in their arms. I screamed and screamed but nothing was working. You left and I never saw you again. It was horrible." Joel explained.

Oh. "Joel I want you to know that I will never leave you. Never ever." I told him. He looked up at me. "You promise?" He asked. I nodded my head. "I promise." I said as we smiled. "Let's think of something to dream of like, you're on holiday with someone you love or a friend and have the best time." I said not sure what I was on about.

We laid back down. "Can it be us?" He mumbled. "Of course." I smiled. We laid in silence. "Now close your eyes and think about it all." I said softly and Joel closed his eyes. "Thank you y/n." He mumbled as he snuggled back into me. "No problem." I replied as I ran my hands through his hair which sent him off to sleep.
