!! [Mention of self harm scars] !!

Their eyes open suddenly.

The ceiling is made of some sort of dark, rough, textured material.
Maybe gray rusted metal, maybe old concrete.
The room smells musty but sharp. Almost akin to damp leaves when its cold outside, but dusty.
Their fingers twitch, and their right arm moves straight out in front of them with their hand open and outstretched.
They realize that they're laying flat on the floor, as their outstretched arm is now perpendicular to the ground.

Their left arm shifts against their side and the ground, feeling the rough texture of the floor beneath them.
They drop their right arm back to the floor and flip their hand so the palm is touching the ground.
They trace the floor boards with their index finger, noticing the grooves.
It feels like wood.
They tap the ground with their index finger, all the while maintaining their gaze straight above them at the ceiling.
They hear a dull, hollow tap as they drum their fingers on the ground, along with feeling the splinters as they shift their position a bit.

The floor is wood.

Well--probably wood at least. I don't know for sure.

They flex their feet and lift the left one a few inches off of the ground, only to drop it back down.
Another hollow, dull thunk that sounds like wood.
They lift their hands and outstretch both of them in front of their face. They turn their hands over and shift their gaze from the ceiling to their arms.
Their arms are pale and covered with marks.
Mostly freckles, but one side of their left arm is streaked with slit-like scars.
They use their right fingers to trace over the scars, noticing the raised grooves they leave.
The scars are healed, but still reddish and firm--meaning they aren't more than a few months old.

They flatten their hands in front of their face and flip them over a few times, looking at them.
Their hands are sort of long--mostly due to their palms--and they have kind of thick fingers.
Their ring finger is longer than their index on both hands.
They flex their hands, opening and closing a fist to notice how the skin stretches and folds.
Their nails are a bit long, as if they haven't been trimmed in a couple of weeks.

They slowly touch their face with their right hand and drop the left back to their side. Their right hand traces the bridge of their nose, along their mouth, up their jaw, and to their eyes.
They then use both hands to rub their eyes. Their face feels cold and sort of smooth, besides general texture.
They feel their hair covering their forehead, and drag their hand through it.
Their hair is only about an inch or two long around the sides and back, but their bangs are curly, thick, and kind of fluffy.
They pull a strand of hair in front of their eyes. Its dark brown--almost black.

They once again drop their arms to their side and slowly try to sit up.
They push themself into a sitting position with their arms, and cross their legs after stretching them a bit.
Their limbs are slightly tense and heavy, yet movable.

They blink and stare straight a head of then at the wall.
The room they're in is empty and void of all but natural light coming through broken glass windows on the wall right in front of them.

The room has four walls, the two on the left and right of them are shorter than in front and behind them, meaning that the room is rectangular.
Dust particles can be seen floating throughout the air, which is odd considering the building seems empty.

Dust is dead cells, right? I guess it wasn't always empty.

The walls match the wooden(?) floors.
They look to be made out of some sort of dark oak.
The walls and floor are dark, desaturated brown, while the ceiling is a patchy gray color.
