Chapter 3 : Every Road Leads Home to You

Sorry for uploading the chapter so late. It's been a busy week, and this chapter was kinda hard to write.

The silence filled the room for few seconds.
"What do you mean he's still in a critical condition?" Ender finally spoke.

Yiğit reached for his mother's hand as he swallowed nervously.
"Apparently he suffered from a severe blood loss, which didn't make the operation go smoothly, and now they're stabilizing him to preform another surgery-" Kaya explained calmly.

"Take me to him" Ender interrupted.

Before she left her bed, Yiğit had placed his jacket over his mother's shoulders.
When they went to Caner's room, the doctor explained to Ender that due to the huge amount of blood lose there were some complications, and that Caner will undergo one more surgery this evening, which will determine everything.

Kaya, who was observing this situation from afar, examined Ender's face carefully as she listened to the doctor. She had a stiff expression, but seemed as if she would break at any second. While noticing that,Kaya felt completely helpless; he couldn't do anything, he couldn't say anything, but he couldn't bear to leave either.

"So after the surgery..he'll be okay right?" Ender finally spoke, with a voice that started to break.

The doctor scratched his head and glanced sideways.
"Ms.Ender... Unfortunately, we can't tell for sure. We'll have to wait after the surgery."

Ender felt puzzled, she couldn't get a sense of what he was saying, or anything that was happening at the moment. It didn't feel real to her.

"Don't worry everything will be alright, mom" said Yiğit as he placed his hand on his mother's shoulder.

Ender who's back was facing Yiğit, had turned around to him while avoiding his gaze.
"It' my fault.... it's all my fault.." Ender mumbled in what almost sounded like whispers.

Yiğit cupped his mother face with both hands as he tried to follow her distracted gaze.
"How could it be your fault? Don't say that".

Among the many other recent events that didn't feel real to Ender,Yiğit's presence was the strangest. Yiğit is a kind hearted young man; Ender knew that better than anyone. She knew he would come to her aid regardless of everything that happened between them. This is where he resembled his father the most, Ender thought to herself, as she took a quick glance at Kaya who seemed overwhelmed with concern. But still; there was something in his eyes that felt somehow different than before. She couldn't put her finger on it.

Yiğit caressed her fcae gently as his warm smile grew wider, which brought tears to her eyes, and the words began to escape her lips.
"But it is my fault Yiğit! I'm his older sister it's my job to protect him. I should've known Şahika would do something like this..."

"Şahika?" Yiğit raised an eyebrow as he took one quick glance at his father.
Ender switched her gaze to Kaya who seemed surprised. Noticing that, Ender pulled away from her son. She suddenly felt something snap inside her.

"What is it Kaya? You're surprised? Yes, your sister did it! But of course you're going to accuse me of lying, aren't you?" Ender said sarcastically, as the anger stir in her chest.
Kaya fell silent, not knowing exactly how to respond. He thought of how she wasn't in a state that allowed him to go through such a sensitive topic.

"Mom ,please calm down". Yiğit said in a concerned tone.

"No Yiğit! I'm done being calm! All that time .. I put up with everything thinking that no one would suffer any consequences but me,"
Ender raised her trembling voice as she glared at Kaya.
