-Hello readers, this is my very first short story! I only plan on doing three pages. The pages are a bit long due to the fact that I type on my laptop. I DO NOT OWN THE ARTWORK! I find all artwork from Pinterest to help you get an idea of the beasts, characters and scenery. Please be kind and give me some feedback if you'd like! I hope you enjoy!-

A cool breeze flowed through her long, dark brown hair as she sighed, "Man I wish I had some more time to practice. I don't know if I can do this.." She trailed as she sat in her large window seat, her large black wings cupping her torso, surrounded by lap sized pastel purple and blue pillows. The window having a large pointed arch lined in navy blue and gold. She had a clear view of the lands surrounding the palace, including several floating islands.

A tall boy with hip long white hair and emerald green eyes snapped his head up from his book, "Now what kind of attitude is that? You've worked your ass off for two months strait! Plus you're-" she cut him off,

"Don't say it! Everybody says it! Nope! That doesn't mean anything! The next person that brings that up is gonna get slapped!" She huffed and jumped up from her seat, her large wings twitching and adjusting to her sudden movements, trailing behind her. "I'm going out for some air." She walked out onto her balcony and stretched out her large wings, feathers rippling in the fresh morning air, the tips shimmering gold. "Don't wait up!" She hollered as she stepped off her balcony and flew off to clear her head before the first tournament.

The air in her lungs immediately left as she observed Overa Forest: The Forest of Beasts. Before her stood large verdun green trees as tall as the eye can see, covered in vines of all sizes with sprites floating all around them. Flowers of all sorts of colors, shapes and sizes sprouting from the ground, growing anywhere and everywhere, creeping up the trees, surrounding them, shimmering in the sunlight.

A loud screeching speaker from behind caught her off guard as the announcer started his speech:

"Ladies and gentleman, Elves, Orcs, Dryads and all you freaks of nature! Welcome to the first tournament of the season! Tournament one: THE TAMER!!"

His overly excited voice rang, causing Lenora to flinch. Behind her, cheers roared in the giant stadium full of creatures of all kinds. The ground shook sending vibrations into her feet causing the already nervous wreck to gulp and break a sweat.

"Princess, Lenora Elio Windsgard, daughter of Emperor, Gartona Millium Windsgard and Empress, Ammellia Dragonica Windsgard! What a show we 're gonna have today folks! The infamous "Princess" He emphasized. "What will she do? Run away like a coward?! Or face her OBVIOUS ultimate doom!? Here we go boys and girls!! A three! A two! A one! GO!"

The horn blared and her heart jumped from her chest as her legs bolted into the large forest ahead of her. The forest being known for it's maze-like appearance made it perfect for the first tournament, especially because it is the home of many elite predators. Its beauty being known for attracting predator's dinner.

Her heart pounded in her chest as she caught up to her first two route decision. She looked to her right and saw nothing but a strait forward run. To her left, a turn to the right about fifty feet forward. "Remember what dad said; don't panic, stay clear minded, and stay on guard." She reminded herself, taking a deep breath as she calmed her pounding chest. She turned and headed left. 'Okay, not doin too bad, just gotta keep at it and stay focused. Not a problem.' She thought as she breathed, running at a steady pace.

A deep and dry animalistic snarl snapped her out of her thoughts as she stopped in her tracks and raised her wings. She carefully observed the area around her and saw nothing but vines, violet spiraled flowers and the glowing blue pores from the forest, floating around her.
