Toxic Girlfriend - Part 1

Summary: Henry is invited to Charlotte's party and is planning to go with his girlfriend, but things change after he realises Jasper's pain.

Includes an original character called Leanne.

It was a surprise to no one that Henry was so popular. He had natural charisma and could get on well with anyone.

This meant that he didn't have to wait long to get a girlfriend. Leanne had always liked Henry, and going out with him was amazing.

It wasn't all positive though, as she didn't understand why Henry shared such a close relationship with Jasper.

One afternoon, Leanne and Jasper were at Henry's house, with Leanne sat happily leaning into her boyfriend's frame.

Leanne: Could I love you more?

Henry: I'm not sure.

Jasper: Ugh...

This was like hell for Jasper, who had despised the idea of being the third wheel in any group, and was about to get up and leave, when there was a knock at the door.

Jasper used this as an excuse to get away, and went over to open the door. He was met by Charlotte, who looked happy.

Charlotte: Hey Jasper, where is Henry?

Jasper: Over there, Charlotte.

She ran over to Henry and Leanne, leaving Jasper to close the door. Jasper returned to join them, feeling more and more awkward about being there.

He sat back down in his seat, and just hoped this wouldn't last long. There was only a quick silence before Charlotte began talking.

Charlotte: So, I am having a big party tomorrow, do you guys wanna come?

Leanne: Sure, sounds great!

Henry: Absolutely, we'll be there!

Henry looked at Jasper and saw the sad look on his best friends face. He didn't know what was going on, and attempted to try and find out.

Henry: Jasper? Are you okay?

Jasper: Henry I---

Leanne: Who cares!

Charlotte: Well, I do.

Henry: And so do I, actually.

Leanne: More than you care about me?

Henry: Stop doing this Leanne!

Leanne: No Henry, I will not!

Unable to contain his emotions any further, Jasper stood up and started walked out of the room. He wasn't about to cause any argument.

Jasper: It's okay... I'll go...

Henry: Wait!

Sadly, Jasper had already gone out and didn't hear Henry's reply. Charlotte just looked in shock and slight disappointment at what had just happened.

Charlotte: Well, that was out of order.

Leanne: See, she knows what I'm talking about!

Charlotte: I meant you are out of order Leanne! You were very unfair to Jasper!

Leanne: Why does everyone care about him so much?! He's so stupid!

Henry: Stop! Jasper is not stupid! He has been my best friend ever since I was little!

Leanne: So that makes him so important? More important than me?

Henry: I didn't say that, but he is like family to me. I'm not going to just ignore him because you think I should.

Leanne: Perhaps we should split up then!

Henry: Good! Off you go now!

Getting up in a huff, Leanne left rather quickly and frowned at both of them. She was angry, so angry that she was going to snap at anyone who spoke to her.

Charlotte: What are we going to do?

Henry: Isn't it obvious? We go and find Jasper.

Nodding in agreement, Charlotte stood up, followed by Henry, as they went in search of Jasper. They had to work out where he would be, and what was happening.

Henry still saw that look on Jasper's face, and it sent him into a state of deep thought. It bugged him that Jasper was sad.
