"Mother you never told me what happened to father how he died what happened to him I want to know"
"You see the world gets darker every second you grow up but in your case the time started when you were in my womb I was waiting for the time right to tell you what happened
Your father abandoned us , he went for a ritual and never turn back "
The girl took a  back she couldn't believe what her mother just said
It wasn't the first time she raised this question but she never did to her mother she knew her mother wouldn't like it but as far as she knew her father he  was a brave  and a kind man but what her  mother said was totally opposite.
In the afternoon when she went out, she asked  few questions to the villagers
1)Is my father alive
2)Where did my father go
3)What happened that night I want to know
nobody answered ,  they all told her  that she was too small to know after all she was just 8 years old
She went to the six brothers house they were known for their rich family history and again knocked on the door and ask the same three questions nobody answered again as soon as a door was again going to shut  and the girl was giving up a weak soft voice came from behind
"Let the girl come in"
It was the brother's mother she was 99 ,too weak to talk too weak  to work
Elizabeth came in and sat  on the old mattress which was worn out nobody in the village usually used to go and buy stuff . Elizabeth never understood why but they never use to go .
The old woman said" I have the answers to all your questions but I am confined to tell you if you really want to know you have to come back here once you are 10 and once you will be you will know the importance of time than ever you did  "
The girl nodded and said I know that I am too small to know the truth maybe..... it's that hard , I never got to see my father never got to know his hobbies I never got to feel his love and the only thing I can do right now is to relive and imagine the things of the night when he left us, I know I am too small but my heart is a hundred year old it won't be broken, I have all the right s , I deserve to know the truth of the night"
The woman gave a cunning smile and said" maybe you are right maybe your heart is a hundred year old but I suppose that your brain is just 8 like you, I don't want you to get in all the pressure which I have been since that night, you have to understand ,well let's say that on your 10th birthday your birthday gift from me will be the truth will that be ok?"
"Butt"
"And yes before that never mention your mother about your father again you won't realise but it's better not to go in near the wild. I think it's about to be evening don't you want to go and get some woods for your  mother to cook food ? You love her  don't you ?"
"I think you are quite right it's about to be evening and yes I love from my heart well- well I wanted to ask you one more thing what's the ritual which goes in the village?"
"You see here this thing doesn't need to be told ,you will understand it by yourself you will see it by yourself  once you are  10 "
"I do know something bad happens because we are not allowed to go outside and see it but I really wish that I could know it there are so many questions in my head and none of them are been answered I just wished that something happens and like a merical  and all my questions are been answered"
"You see dear curiosity is the step to bravery ,now get off , get some wood  for your  house !it's late"
She went back to a house after grabbing a bunch of wood sticks, she was wondering whether her mother will ask her where she was and if she asked then what will she answer, she knocked  the door nervousness fell through her body as though she knew  her mother is gonna abash her
her mother open the door not with the very welcome smile but with a grim  and said "get in , go to your room and you won't get food today "
Elizabeth did not dare to ask anything anymore she did the same thing with her mother ordered her to do, she  used to beat her on small things and make fun of it looked as to her mother never loved her but she had some memories some very beautiful memories of her mother and her she couldn't believe that her mother has changed so much over the years
hunger was   striking but she knew there was no gain in going downstairs . She took the blanket and slept
