Gone

Harry wouldn't lie...he felt depressed, after loosing so many people and seeing such horrible things...could you really blame him? The only thing that really made him happy anymore were his Friends and...the love of his life.

Not many people actually knew this but Harry and Draco had gotten together one summer. They had met up by accident and figured out they were staying in similar areas. Over time they just naturally started hanging out and one stormy night when Draco had no way home they shared a kiss.

Harry walked up to the bright blonde haired boy and tapped his shoulder gently. "Do you mind if we talk about something? I know it's rather risky to do it at school but I need the comfort", he said quietly.

They both looked around the hallways and when they were sure no one was watching they snuck away to a the room that always moved. It had become a joke amongst them to see how often it was needed.

As soon as the door was closed Draco sat down at one of the couches, his face softened from the normal look of disgust into a loving smile and he turned his attention to his boyfriend. "What's wrong Harry? I know you haven't been the happiest with everything that's going on and that makes sense, but I thought you were doing better?"

The brown haired male leaned against the cold wall and ran a hand through his messy hair. "I was and then we came back to school. Now Ron and Hermione are always busy studying together, not to mention we have to hide everything about our relationship. I don't want to be hated for being gay but I also want to be free..."

Draco nodded imagining a world where being gay wouldn't make his father disgrace him and his friends would support him in his endeavors. It would be amazing if it was real. "That does sound lovely but you know it's not that easy. What can I do to make you feel better? We could study together like the nerd and the weasel."

Harry shook his head and pulled away from the wall to slowly walk over to his boyfriend. He sat down next to him and laid his head softly on the other males shoulder. "I suppose spending the extra time together would be nice. Are you sure you want to do that though? What if you get caught leaving and-"

The blonde chuckled and put a arm around Harry. "No one will catch me and even if they do my father has connections. If I tell him I was doing extra homework he tells the school forgive me or they get a bill. You don't have to worry so much love."

"Your right I don't know what I was thinking...class should be starting soon so we should go. I have one last thing to do though." Harry said before pulling away to see his confused boyfriend. He smiled at the sight and planted a sweet kiss on Dracos lips.

They were both blushed when they finally headed to their designated classes and neither really minded, sure they could play it off as them being to warm or seeing a girl who was good lucking but in reality they knew what it was from.

The rest of the school day seemed to drag on forever as Harry sat in his chair with no way to talk to anyone. The only time he got to even say a word to Draco was at lunch when they said hi. So much for spending a lot of time together...no he couldn't be angry and pout. That wasn't fair to anyone involved, this was sadly how things had to be and no one could change it.

"Harry, are you alright? You keep looking off to the distance and spacing out. Has potions and hexes have you bummed out cause I'm sure you will do fine."

His head shot up and he pushed his dreamy state aside as he looked at Hermione. Her hair still frizzy and her book not leaving her side. "Sorry. I wasn't thinking about class."

"Oooo you were thinking about Malfoy?" Hermione teased and giggled for once sound like a normal girl, not a nerd. That simple action made Ron look up from his food, which in itself was a task and suddenly start paying attention.

"Yes that and happy thoughts. I have been having a hard time lately but I feel like I'm a pain when I talk about it-" Harry started but was caught off from his explanation when there was a loud crash!

The students began to scream as the roof above them showed cracks spreading through to whole ceiling. They ran as bits of debris rained down and the teachers shouted commands.

Harry was lost in the sights and wasn't pulled away till a certain red head harshly grabbed him. With a grip like Ron's he made it to safety with a couple bruises but no permanent damage. All of it seemed so strange. Had this been another evil doer?

"Hello! Harry snap out of it!" Hermione shouted and slapped her best friend across the face hard enough to leave a mark. It wasn't a method that was normal but it worked for her.

The brown haired male looked at his friends and smiled at their dust covered appearances. "Thank you...sorry I wasn't paying attention like I should have been."

"It's alright. I had fun pulling you around anyway. For once I feel like a hero." Ron said proudly and put a fist to his heart like he was posing for a comic book cover.

Harry looked around at the other students and teachers who were still acting frantically to figure out what happened, then he realized he couldn't see Draco anywhere. He was sure he would have been with his Slytherin friends.

When things calmed down more and he still had seen no sign of his boyfriend he got up. His walk to Dumbledore feeling like he was stepping in lava... everything is fine...right?

"Ah the celebrity of the school. What can I do for you today hm?" The man said, his white beard moving with each word and his soft smile making it seem like nothing had happened.

"Where's Draco? We are enemies yes but I still think it's odd hes not out here. Did he get injured?" Harry asked trying not to get to worried about what injuries he could possibly have and instead focus on the task at hand.

"... I wouldn't say he's your enemy anymore. You can be happy about that but there is real tragedy in what has become of the dead boy."

"What?" Harry asked feeling panic bubble in his chest and all the worries filling his mind. His words of wisdom to himself being completely ignored.

"Him and one other student didn't make it out of the room. We have Snape searching for survivors but at this rate..."

It was like he had been broken... like he could no longer be in the same reality as anyone else. His world was gone and his spirit was nothing but a flicker of what could have been. His eyes filled with tears and with no care as to who was looking or watching he fell to the ground. He put his hands on his head and screamed as loud as he could.

No one...

Not one single person could help him now.

He was in a hole of despair that was ever growing and he would never be able to get out of it. He would live his life as far away from others as he could because he knew that whenever he started to care for someone...they would die.

That sad but honest truth of Harry Potter.

The end
