Mr Bennet was rigid; one thing led to another. Mrs Bennet was flabbergasted that her husband would not buy a new wardrobe of her own daughter. He proclaimed that she would not receive any affection from him, even if it was her marriage. Mrs Bennet could not believe his anger could stop his daughter from getting new clothes.
