Chapter 5

"Hinata perfectly recieves Wakatoshi's spike for the second time this season! This makes Hinata the only player, that isn't a libero, to perfectly recieve his spike twice in one season!" The announcer screamed. "As Japan's best arm canon, and the ace for Japan's national team, this must be quite upsetting for Wakatoshi."

This game is the second game between the Adlers and the Jackals, and could be their final game if either team doesn't make the championship game. Currently the Jackals sit on top of the standings, winning eleven games and still being undefeated. The Adlers are right behind them with nine wins and two losses. This was the final game of the regular season and in two weeks the playoffs begins.

Which means for the next two weeks, every night I come home from work, I get to be with Hinata. Usually I only get to see him three days a week, because the other four days he leaves Osaka to play away games. Today happens to be one of those days as he's in Oita to play against Kageyama-kun.

I really wanted to go to this game with Hinata but.....

"HERE I AM AT WORK!" I yelled aloud. I tossed my pen and placed my head on my desk. "Everyone is at the game, while I'm just watching the game from my phone!"

"Excuse me ma'am but you're not the only one stuck here." One of my co-workers responded. "Yeah, we wanted to go the game too." My other co-worker added.

All three of us were stuck here until 02:00 because of a last second assignment. Our assignment, coincidentally, was to come up with a draft poster for the volleyball playoffs. This was originally handed to the secondary design team but then got switched to the first design team after the second team handed in their draft. Let's just say the boss wasn't very fond of it and fired almost every member of the second team.

"On the bright side; if we do a great job then we'll all get promotions." One of my co-workers stated.

That's exactly why I'm still here. The long awaited promotion I've been working my butt off for. It took a few months but I finally have the chance to get it. As the head for the first team I'll get to become a chief marketing officer. Which means I can start working from a home computer and only come to Japan for important meetings.

Recently I learned that the CEO herself lives in Brazil and only comes back to Japan when she has business to attend to. I'm usually a shy person but I've become close friends with her. Everytime she comes to Japan she invites me to lunch, which I always agree to.

Also, Hinata and I just signed a one year lease on a house in Brazil that's in the same neighborhood as the CEO. The lease begins in a month and half, a few days after the championship game in Japan. It's a really expensive house to rent, but it was in a neighborhood where alot of rich people usually buy their vacation homes, so it's definitely an amazing neighborhood. With Hinata's new contract, and my promotion, we'll have alot more than enough to pay for the rent.

Speaking about contracts: Hinata signed a one year contract with Brazil's top team, Funvic Taubate, for Brazil's upcoming volleyball season. After watching Hinata play beach volleyball, and watching him play division one Japanese volleyball, they got in touch with him as fast as they could. Apparently they got Hinata's number from his beach volleyball partner and the second they got it they called him.

Everything was going perfectly and that's exactly why I was scared. Nothing ever goes this perfectly for me, something terrible was bound to happen. My anxiety is going through the roof. What if I get hit by a bus on the way home and end up reincarnated as a hero in another world? What if I die and then end up having to repeat my life? Something crazy is bound to happen!!

"Yachi-san? Hello? Earth to Yachi-san." I picked my head off from my desk and looked in the direction of the voice. "Yes?"

My co-worker looked at me confused. "I asked if you wanted to put Hinata-kun on the poster." Ah, that's right, I'm still at work. "Why wouldn't she want to put her boyfriend on the poster?"
