Chapter 12

"Edana?" Midas repeated cluelessly. Nagpapalit-palit ang tingin niya sa dalawa na nagtititigan.

"W-Wow," Caedmon blurted, ignoring Midas, he went his way to Edana who's waiting for him.

"I can't believe this! I thought it will be Kalonice, but it was you!" sabi niya habang papalapit sa babae. Edana chuckled before standing up and welcomed him in her arms.

The Yzaguirres' eyes enlarged due to the sight.

Caedmon hold onto her thin waist and rubbed his thumb on her, "Hell, you became hotter and sexier, Kalonice. I watched the news. I knew it was you." Ngiti ni Caedmon. Edana laughed softly and pressed herself on him. Caedmon smirked.

"Well, of course. I'm doing good. You should to me too." Bulong niya at kumindat kay Caedmon. Midas part them.

"WHAT'S THE MEANING OF THIS? EXPLAIN!" he roared na siyang nagpangiwi sa dalawa.

"Bro, you don't need to shout." Tawa ni Caedmon habang nakatakip sa mga tenga.

"I hope you're that loud on bed too." Ngisi ni Edana bago mahinang tumawa.

"W-What!?"

"Just kidding. Pfft!"

"But... You two, how did you know each other?" tanong ni Larry na naguguluhan.

Caedmon and Edana looked at each other before smiling. "We met here in New York before." Edana.

"We're somehow friends, but we're not actually friends," sabi naman ni Caedmon na nagpagulo lalo sa isipan ng tatlo.

"But you said you never had any friends here!?" gagad ni Midas kay Edana.

"Oh? We really are not. We're just like, uhhm, acquaintances, strangers who knew each other? It's hard to explain. HAHA!" Edana explained and none of their explanations got inside the Yzaguirres' minds.

Midas looked at his friend Caedmon. He turn his head towards him and raises his eyebrows at Midas. Midas arches his too and tilted his head a little, a sign that he's waiting for a clearer explanation. Caedmon sighed.

"We get into the same school here in New York before I move to Stanford University to take Automotive Engineering. We just had short chit-chats, you know. She's a great student anyway." Ngiti niya at tumingin kay Edana. She smiled back at him and gave him a seductive wink. Caedmon chuckled.

Gwynedd and Larry looked at each other. They knew something is up with the two that they can't understand what it was. They don't want to jump into conclusions. But they know the two is hiding something.

"And also, she's a part-timer in my Uncle's bar that I used to handle before here in NYC. She sings for the customers---"

"But your Uncle's bar is for...hooking up?" saad ni Larry bago tumingin kay Edana. Nagtinginan sila ni Caedmon.

Edana look at Larry with a smile. "Do you think I'm a hooker?"

"N-No! No, hija. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make it look that way. I'm sorry." Paghingi agad ni Larry ng tawad. Gwynedd glared at him and so Midas because of that.

"Of course, she's under my protection. She won't let other men touch her, other than me." Bumungisngis siya. Alam ng tatlong may kakaibang laman ang huli niyang sinabi. Ayaw nilang isipin na may namagitan o namamagitan sa dalawa, pero sa inaakto nila ngayon at sa mga sinasabi nila, they can't help but think that there's really something up between them. Or they're just teasing them using misleading words?

"So..." Larry cleared his throat. "Why did you call her Edana earlier when her name is Kalonice?"

Bahagyang nagsalubong ang mga kilay ni Caedmon at naituro si Edana. "Oh, so you have no idea about her condition?"
