What is the purpose of a rose on a wall?
Does it serve any function at all?
Will people notice when it fades and dies?
Does anyone see when it tries, and tries?
Scent unrewarded, color unseen.
What is the purpose of the rose on the wall?
It is there.
It is there for the lover, to share his heart.
It is there for the soldier, beauty-deprived.
It is there for the mother, and son, and bride.
It is there for the blind, its scent to enjoy.
It is there for the heartless, to show them what is.
It is there for the hopeful, to give them their dreams.
It is there to be seen and remembered and heard.
It is there.
I was incredibly bored at a meeting that I didn't want to be at anyways, and no one really cared if I was there or not. Both the poem and the cover art are originally mine.
I'm not a poet....
But I'm sure you know it.
Anybody want a peanut?
