Something is disconcerting about a perception of death. When someone doesn't lose their life right before your eyes it's easy to believe it's not the truth. Like they're still living and breathing away from you. In your mind, you can delude yourself into believing that everything is fine to save yourself the hurtful truth. That's what I did when Bellamy was on the Ring. When I saw Bellamy's body thrown into a Wormhole straight from Octavia's memories. Never dead... just gone. Vanished to someplace I can't see or hope to travel. It's always easier to delude yourself than face the reality, and even easier excuse to avoid the grief that can ensnare you.
