Their Eye Lock

Her POV

Corona. Lockdown. So no school. No classes.

Sounds fun right, but not for me.

It's been

1893600 seconds
Since I saw him, my love.

I've passed these many days with only few photos of him, which I saved from his social media profile pictures.Only my wet pillows and teddy bear know how much I missed him.

But now, I've got a chance to meet him.

Yesterday night I got a circular from my school which teleported me to cloud 9."All the students must come to school to fill the form" the circular read.

My hands started shaking and fresh tears glistened as soon as I read that line.

"Am I gonna see him?" I asked to my inner self."Yes!!!" my inner self screamed.

We both got a time slot which was 2 hours apart but still I had hope.

I didn't sleep all night thinking about the next day.

I woke up early next morning and dressed up in a colour he likes. Keeping bindi as the final touch, I saw myself in the mirror in front of me. I noticed a glow on my face, which I didn't see for the past few months.

I grabbed the face mask and walked out of the house. Everything feels soo good today I thought.

My bestie was waiting for me, I flashed a million dollar smile to her and she knowing the reason gave a sheepish smile. I hid my face with a palm, feeling shy.

We soon reached near the our school campus, there were many boys were walking in and out the campus but my eyes were searching for only one, my one.

I was praying since the time I got the circular, god's ears would've been deafened by then.

Feeling little distressed, I held my bestie's hand and she squeezed it assuring me that everything will be fine.

The person standing in front checked my temperature, I gave a small smile to him and proceeded walking.

We reached our assigned classroom, the whole time my eyes were searching for him. In tamil I would say, en kannu para-para nu avangalaye theditu irundhuchu

I filled the form and signed it and was waiting for my bestie to complete. Many of my classmates waved at me, some greeted me too but I was yearning for his deep manly voice.

We both signed the form and it was over within five minutes. We both walked out of the room. My hopes started dropping but I still had little hope left.

We both walked downstairs and still, there was no sign of him.

The second I stepped out of the school gate, my hopes were shattered and my eyes betrayed me.

I walked nearly 50 meters away from the gate. My bestie knew what has happened and she held my hand, giving me strength.

My sad tears turned into happy ones.

All the things in my surrounding blurred. I could barely hear my bestie, speaking actually squealing.

He was looking extremely handsome in a dark blue tee, black jeans and black mask.

A smile spread under my mask.

He looked towards my side and my eyes were caged in his black captivating orbs. I was drowning in his eyes.

It was an EYELOCK.

Not wanting to break the eyelock, I started walking backwards.

He ran his fingers through his black hair, making my heart beat out of it's cage.

The eyelock lasted for only 7 seconds but it felt euphoric.

While this song was playing in my mind as BGM.

Soon, I had to turn to go to the car and he went inside the car but the few seconds were blissful.

Our eyes displayed love, PURE LOVE
