Imani's POV:

For two weeks, I've been sleeping alone. For two weeks, I haven't laid a finger on my phone. For two weeks, I haven't gone out. These two weeks have been lonely and depressing. It hurts to know that I can't spend almost two months with the only one I actually want to be around. I'm supposed to be texting him, but I can't bring myself to do it. I'm the type of person to want all of something, or none of it. That's just the way it goes. My sister's been telling me Jaden's been running around New York. That sure did make my summer better. Hearing that he was in New York rather than being in Cheltenham with me really put the cherry on top of the two weeks out of school. So I'm lying in bed, my cheek on my tear-stained pillow, sulking. I checked the time on my alarm clock: 12:24. Suddenly, I heard someone burst in my room. "Come in," I snapped. My mother ignored my sarcasm. "Imani, get up. It's been two weeks into summer vacation, and you haven't done anything. I want you to go out. I got our passes to the pool, why not go there?" she asked. I sighed, "I don't feel like doing anything, mother." "Well you're going to have to," she said, sternly. She sat down on my bed next to me and sighed. "Honey, I just want you to be happy," she said. I looked at her. "But how do I look, mom? I'm completely torn down because the person I'm supposed to spend the whole summer with, was in Costa Rico! But now he went to New York! He doesn't wanna spend time time with me!" I cried. She looked suprised. I don't know if it's because of how right I was, or that this was all I said this summer. "Well sweetie, fresh air will make you feel alive. Trust me," she said. I thought about it then exhaled. "Ok, fine. I'll go to the pool. Let me check my phone first, okay?" I asked. She smiled and nodded. "Thank you, baby," she said, kissing my forehead before walking out of my room. I got up and went to my dresser. I picked up my phone, and I felt famous. I had to at least have over 40 messages. Half of them were from Jaden trying to get out to me, and the other half were from my other contacts. I read all the messages Jaden sent me, until I got to Jaden's last message to me, which was sent about a week ago. It read:

To: Me

From: Young Smitooooo ;)

Hey Babe I Know Your Upset, But It's Not The End Of The World. I Will Always Love You. There's Never One Minute That Passes By And I Dunt Think Of You. And It Brakes My Heart Little By Little Cuz Your Not Answering My Texts. I Miss You To Much, And It's Killin Me. I Need To Talk To You. Please :(

(A/N: Ok, I tried my best to type like Jaden. I'm sorry, but the boy needs a grammar lesson lol. I think I did fine though. Please don't laugh. It was meant to be serious lmfao.)

A tear slid down my cheek. I wiped it off quickly. I was not going to cry today. No. I replied back, but I wasn't going to mention New York. It took everything to even write the message.

I'm so sorry. It just won't feel the same texting you. I need you here. With me. I'll keep texting you, though. I guess communication saves relationships, and talking to you is the closest thing to physically being with you.

After I texted him back, I checked my other messages. They were irrelevant, but I texted back my contacts anyway. Jalil sent me a couple of texts, but I ignored them. He was a little strange to me. After I was finished, I got up and took a long, hot shower. The burning sensation from the water felt delightful. It hurt a little, but it was the best feeling in the world at the moment. After I got out of the shower, I went into my sister's room. "Hey, Brianca. Mom is making me go to the pool. Do you want to go with me?" I asked. She turned away from laptop and looked in my direction. "Well, I'm going to Wall Park. I'm going to meet Marcel," she said, cheesing. I rolled my eyes. Marcel was a guy Brianca met at the mall. They aren't really together, but I guess they're friends with benefits. "Ok. I might go with you, but I don't wanna feel like a third wheel..." I said trailing off. "It's your choice," she said. "What time are you leaving?" I asked. "2:30," she said. "Ok, I'll tell you when I get some information about who's going to be at the pool, and who isn't," I said. She nodded and turned her attention back to her laptop. I headed back towards my room. When I got there, I checked the time: 1:07. I picked up my phone quickly and was about to scroll through my contacts to ask who was gonna be at the pool, until my screen said I had a text. It was from my friend Monica and it was a half an hour ago. It read:
