"SHIT!" You yell aggressively. It's your first day with the new client and you slept in. The only reason you woke up was because your roommate Tom woke you up.

"Hey it's 8:00 and I haven't heard you complain about the morning yet, are you alive?" Tom asks

"I wish I wasn't. I'm running late thank you for waking me up!" you reply

Damn you wish you hadn't stayed up all night reading. Luckily you have enough dry shampoo to make it through the day. You roll out of bed and throw on a nice black blazer, with a tan turtle neck underneath and some black slacks. You put on some heals you know are gonna hurt your feet by the end of the day but hey they are just too cute.

Tom is a British fellow who recently moved to DC. He has a squarish face and wears thick glasses that frame his face nicely. Tom works as a salesman and he's good at it because of his accent it's very charming.  You two met on a roommate finder website and instantly clicked. Tom has been in an on-again-off-again relationship with some girl named Darcy in Connecticut but they don't seem very good for each other. Darcy is a designer in New York, but she has had lots of work done and you can tell. Her lips are comically large and her skin looks like it's been stretched and then pulled back. They constantly fight, you cant keep track of when they are together or broken up.

Moving to D.C was terrifying. It was the first time you had been far away from your home for such a long time. You found a shabby apartment above a bar called Richards. It's not much but it's home and has been home for a few years now. Your favorite part of the apartment is the window that looks out most of the city if you squint you can see the top of the Washington monument. Most of the furniture is from IKEA but there is one painting that your mom gave you of ballerinas getting ready for a dance recital. You s The only downside of your apartment is the kitchen. It's so small that only one person can be in it before feeling clasutrophobic.

Your job pays well but not Jeff Bezos well. You would think that being a campaign manager in D.C would be easy but it's very competitive. Everyone wants to win because if you win you get paid more. You've built up a good team and helped candidates win Senate and House spots but you've never worked on a presidential campaign...until now.

You run out the door with your overnight oats in a mason jar in your hands. Wave good bye to Tom, and think about the new client. Today is going to be great.
