"Daddy? Chrissy ate my ice gems!" Sam wailed, tugging on my red hooded jacket, crocodile tears streaming down his cheeks. "Sam, mate, just have a Kinder bar instead. No need to get upset.  She's little remember." I replied. Sam sulked and dragged himself back to the kitchen. Chrissy, however, was looked amusingly pleased with herself. "I wish Mum was home now. I want to tell her about what I got in English." Gracie admitted excitedly, she had got a high mark in her class, the highest mark in fact, I had never seen her so proud. "She'll be home soon darling. She should be on her way now. I hope she is anyway, I'm absolutely starving." I smiled back at her. Gracie nodded in agreement before proceeding to play Snap! with Chrissy and her Frozen cards. Sam had now returned, much happier than before with his mouth covered in chocolate, before colouring in Iron Man in his Marvel Colouring In Collection book. "DADDY!!! IT'S SNOWING!!!" Chrissy yelled making me jump. I looked out the bay window and gazed at the heavy blizzard of snowflakes coming down. "Just hope your mum isn't stuck in any traffic." I said, my stomach was rumbling very loudly now. "Can we build a snowman pleaseee?" Sam begged. I nodded and watched them all get into warmer clothing before rushing  outside, excitement sparkling in their eyes.

I was watching Gracie help Sam and Chrissy put the finishing touches to their snowmen when the phone rang. I got up, stretched, and picked it up to answer. "Hello, Joe Sugg speaking." I stated. The background was very noisy on the other end, I heard endless beeping. "Mr Sugg, I'm calling from Brighton General hospital. It's with regret to notify you that your wife, Elena, has been in a car accident. She is unconscious and is in the intensive care unit." A nurse informed me. My heart felt like it had been drained, it remained a empty chamber. I was speechless. I felt sick. "O-O-Okay... I'll c-come now..." I finally managed to say before putting the phone down. I felt extremely dizzy as I walked towards the front door to tell the kids. "Kids, get in the car please, you need to go to Uncle Alfie and Aunty Zoe's house." I instructed weakly. They obeyed straight away. I waited for them to get in the car before explaining. "Your mummy's been in an accident, she's in hospital. I don't want you to see her today, it might scare you. Uncle Alfie and Aunty Zoe will look after you." I explained.  They all nodded sadly, Chrissy started crying silently. I started the engine and drove to my sister's.

I knocked her door nervously. She opened it almost straight away. She could sense my worry from miles away and pulled me in for a hug before saying "What's happened Joseph?" That's where I broke down into tears. "It's Elena. She's been in a car accident. Been put in Intensive Care. I-I need to see her... please can you look after the kids? She might be really bad..." Zoe gasped and nodded. "Yeah, of course, go now! I'll keep them safe." She answered reassuringly. I thanked her, hugged the kids, before climbing back into the car and raced off for the hospital.
