38: Just like a Spellman

"Where are you heading?" i asked Jughead as i sat on one of the stools in the kitchen drinking my tea. "How long have you been up?" Jughead asked as he walked over to me wrapping his arms around my torso and kissing my cheek "I'm heading to my dad's"

"Good I'm coming with i have to ask him something"

"You can ask me" Jughead replied and i gave him a look "no i can't the things i asked you i know for certain i can't ask FP," i said putting my cup on the counter and sliding on my shoes "Aren't you taking them?" Jughead asked looking over at Nagini and Chucky "of course I'm taking them they need some fresh air" i asked as i open the door and they ran to the truck.

Finally made it there i open the back door and Nagini and Chucky jumped out wagging their little tale "are you guys going to come in or run around out here?" i asked them they looked at me for a second and then ran away "I'll take that as you're going to stay out here" i said laughing and walking towards FP's door.

Opening the door i saw FP in the kitchen "you can't be just walking into someone's home like that i could've been naked" he said still with his back turned towards us "and i would've been scared for life" i replied sitting down at the table with Jughead. As Jughead picked up a paper FP spoke "I was checking out a few places. There's that one building on Franklin and Sycamore."

"Dad, there's living on the wrong side of the tracks and then there's living directly over the tracks."

"I'm a soda jerk at Pop's, Jughead. We're not gonna be moving into the Pembrooke."

"Well, we shouldn't have to move at all. No one in this trailer park should have to move. This is just Hiram Lodge's vendetta against us. Look, he is planning something, Dad, something big and bad. I just... I just have to figure out a different angle."

"If you want FP i have a house here on the Southside, i have the keys in the car outside"

"Mel that's sweet of you but i don't want to be a burden"

"Trust me FP you're not and if you become on you know I'm the first one to tell you," i said grabbing his hand and giving him a reassuring squeeze"

"I'll think about it" FP said and i nodded "We have to head to school Mel" Jughead said and i tossing him the keys "Okay I'll be right out" i said and he looked at me than his dad before nodding and heading out to the car "I brought Nagini and Chucky could you look after them," i asked and FP nodded "Mel is that what you really wanted to ask me?" FP said and we stared at each other before i sighed "No... it's not... i think i saw mom"

"What!?! Where!?!" FP said jumping up from his chair as he started looking around "Not here, calm down, will you? While we handled Betty's and Alice's business. I saw here on the side of the road looking at me"

"Okay did you see you're dad?"

"No i didn't but dad is the least of our worries when it comes to people coming back mom's different, she's from Greendale, she's a Spellman. FP you and i both know how Spellman's are"

"I know, just go to school and relax don't tell nobody but Mary"

"Mary knowns already"

"Okay just be a normal kid" FP said and i looked at him "Fair enough just be you and go to school" FP said and i nodded before heading out the door and Nagini and Chucky ran up to me "you be on your best behaver, okay" i told them kissing there heads and they ran inside, watching them go inside FP stuck his head out the door "there safe go to school" FP called out and i giggled before getting in the truck. "What took you so long?" Jughead said as i close the truck door "i had to convice FP to watch Nagini and Chucky, lucky i can be very perswausve"

"Don't i know it" Jughead said and i laughed before kissing him as he pulled off towards the school.

"Last period finally" i said plopping down on the chair next to Archie and Vee, soon Mary and Betts came, i felt a tap on my shoulder looking up it was Jughead, standing up Jughead sat down on the chair and i sat on his lap "Okay where all here, what is it you wanted to tell us?" i asked swinging my legs across the armrest. "Fair warning. Our Shadow Lake chalet is rustic, but it has breath-taking views of the mountains, the water" Vee said "Oh, my God. That sounds heavenly, Vee." Betts said "What do you say, Jug? Can you bear it?" I asked Jughead grabbing his hand from rubbing up and down my thigh. "As long as it's cool with your dad." He repiled looking up at me smiling "Mr. Lodge actually suggested it."Archie said.

"Well, then, cue the dueling banjos."

"What?"Mary said and i laughed "What Jughead means beside spending time with is friends it will also be a good chance for me to work on my novel." I said and Jughead nodded "Excellent! But remember, the point of this luxury weekend is to relax and unplug." Vee said and i nodded agreeing with her. " "Luxury" and "weekend", two of my favorite words. So, where are we going, and how extravagant a wardrobe should I pack?" Cherry said coming out of nowhere it's like she was waiting outside the door. "Sorry, Cheryl. It's kind of a romantic, couples-only weekend." Vee said and she looked at everyone but her eyes stayed on me for the longest finally looking away from her i looked over at Mary. "I see. Of course. My mistake. Well, have fun with your romances."

"Jug come with me" i said getting up and pulling his arm so he can keep up with me "What's up?" he asked as i shut the door to an empy classroom "Babe, don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled you're up for this weekend away, but i know you so i'm also not even slightly i'm highly suspicious or you, why is that?"

"Possibly because I need a new source of intel for my article on Hiram Lodge, and I was just thinking that could be Veronica. She's on the inside of her family business. Maybe I can..."

"Okay, one... You know i support you but can you please not investigate Vee when she's nice enough to invite us both to her family's cabin? And two... I was talking to Betts and Mary and Betts said ever since that night, it's like Chic is everywhere she said she needs this weekend to be an escape and i also need this."

"Alright i solemnly promise I'll behave myself," Jughead said and i smiled up at him pecking his lips. "We leave tomorrow and since school is over and nobody is coming in this room, how about we have a little fun"

"No Mel" Jughead said walking towards the door "Why not?" i asked grabbing his arm and pulling him back to me "Because i don't want anyone to catch us like how i caught Archie and our old teacher" Jughead said and i just stared at him and he stared back at me "fine, you win. Let's go and pack" i said rolling my eyes and walking out the door towards the truck. Mary was already there "So i've been thinking about what you told me and i think i saw them too" Mary said and my eyes widen looking at Jughead and Betts "Where?" i asked looking around and unlocking the truck everyone got in and i drove towards our house. "I saw them walking the halls"

"Really?"

"Yeah and when i started walking towards them they disappeared"

"Just like a Spellman" i said and Mary agreed "what are you guys talking about?" Betts asked and i looked in the review at Mary, our eyes met "Mel and I use to have this dream when we where young all the time, i just forgot to tell Mel about it the other day" Mary said and i sighed 'i can't believe that worked' i thought to myself. "So am i driving? am i picking everyone up? How's this working" I asked as everyone "No we'll meet up at Vee's place and Archie said he'll drive" i nodded pulling into the garage "okay... Mary do you want me to pack yours?"

"Yeah please and bring it with you" I said walking inside and texting FP "so what did my dad say about watching your babies" Jughead said wrapping his arms around me "how about we spend a little us time before we pack" Jughead asked as he started to kiss my neck "Nope i asked you when we where at school and you said no"

"What no you didn't i would've said yes if that was the case"

"Yeah right" i said smiling rolling my eyes at him walking upstairs as i got to the top of the stiars i turned around and saw Jughead still at the bottom "well are you coming or not i can always do this myself" i said as i walked into the room, Listening i heard him running up the stairs and i started laughing.
