Peter was in the bedroom with his wife, yelling down at him as he kept a small smile on his face. "What the hell are you talking about wanting some divorce?!" Her voice bounces off the walls of the room, letting them slowly exist out the door for their children to hear. Conner was taking care of the youngest as he was only a few months old and needed to be cared for; he hums softly to the infant and gently rocks the cradle from side to side. Joey was sitting on the couch with his sisters as he cried into Leslie's shirt, letting his tears sink into her shirt with his grip slightly tight around her waist. Everyone could hear him whimpering for help as Joey broke down. Zachary let out a short heavy sigh before he got up from the chair at the dining table to get a glass of water when his mother slammed the door open.
Soon enough, she was out of the house with nothing left behind of her. It felt like the storm had passed yet, it remained to linger in the clear air. Peter picked up himself from the bed and went out to greet his children. Once he walked into the living room, he gives them a big smile letting his eyes close only to have his tears finally fall down his face. His kids looked up at him and were all in shock to see their father force such a kind smile. Joey was the first to get up and run up to Peter, hugging him as soon the rest of the children joined in. Peter was the toughest softy out there when it came to his pride and joys. "Lo siento niños, ahora solo seremos tú y yo.." He spoke in a low tone of voice, soothing enough to put them asleep. They all knew she was never coming back; she always went out for long periods to go out to party and go back to another man's place. They all wanted what was best for their father so, if that meant that their mother had left the picture, then they'd go through that loss together. "It's not your fault Papa.." His second daughter spoke up first, Andy.
Peter was fortunate to have his children resemble him more than his ex-wife. He would have never known that this would ever happen in their relationship. Bella was her name, Bella Oliver, and she was the sweetest person you could ever meet well before she got into drinking too much then she could handle. Peter met her at a college party, and him being the nice guy; he offered her a place to stay for the night considering she couldn't drive back to her apartment. Soon after she had gotten sober that morning, she decided she'd stay with him. That only lead her to use him, and Peter noticed. He knew there was something still worth fighting to stay with her, and so he married her. It became more difficult for him to believe now that their family was growing.
He had always been a single dad from the moment he held his firstborn in his arms. As he was holding each of his kids in his arms, he promised to be the best parent that he could be to provide his family all his love and support. "I love you all so much and never forget that, alright?" Peter opened his eyes once again as he wipes his tears away, chuckling softly. "Mhm!" They all hummed happily in unison, including baby boy Benji babbling his mouth off as he tries to talk.
